I'm not going to say too much about a road game against what I personally consider the most consistently dominant defense in the league in one of the most hostile stadiums around the league.

But, if we don't see some real progress from this offense soon - like this week, I'm going to have to go with my gut.

said it perfectly tandy. it's hard to say 100% that i want him gone after only 2 years (and 1 of those years he did an excellent job), but he's moving towards my **** list realllll fast.

I HATE it. I watched the Ravens game last night and watching Flacco get the type of play calls that he gets just gets p***** me off because Ryan seems to still have a rookie playbook. We need a new OC. One that can make our boy grow, not keep him pinned down.

Remember how hands own Dan Reeves was when he was HC in Denver? Remember how much him and Elway fought? There was a reason for that. It was because Reeves was holding back Elway and Elway knew it and the numbers back that up.

In 10 years under Reeves Elway had a 54.7 completion percentage with 158 touchdowns and 157 interceptions.

In 6 years after Reeves was fired Elway had a 60.0 completeion percentage with 142 touchdowns and only 69 interceptions.

Oh and Ryan was 27 of 44 for 252 yards. That was not a bad game against a top 5 defense. It wasn't the darn Rams we were playing for crying out loud!

I believe Mularkey is holding Ryan back from reaching his full potential.

I know, I don't blame Ryan at all, but I have seen enough plays, that make you shake your head going HUH? Why the hell did you call that. Total Drive killers. Sad

Ryan needs to grow and have the options that if he doesn't like what being called that he can say, screw that like Peyton and Brady do.

RE: How bad do you hate Mularkeys play calling? And do you want him gone?
I was interested to know when the last time was that MM had a top 10 offense outside of 2008, so I just figured I'd compile his entire career.

2000: (Pitt) 18th in total offense
2001: (Pitt) 3rd in total offense
2002: (Pitt) 5th in total offense
2003: (Pitt) 22nd in total offense

2004 (Buff) 25th in total offense
2005 (Buff) 28th in total offense

2006 (MIA) 20th in total offense
2007 (MIA) doesn't matter Cameron demoted him to TE coach

2008 (ATL) 6th in total offense
2009 (ATL) 16th in total offense

I know that this is a broad generalization and not necessarily reflective of his chops as an OC, but it makes one wonder how much 2008 may have been an aberration due to no one expecting the Falcons to do anything.

We all love Ryan and he did great in 2008, but if something doesn't happen this year, something is going to have to change. Given that Ryan is our franchise QB, my bet is on Mularkey hitting the bricks.

I forget how long Buffalo has been so awful. Being demoted in 07 might have been the best thing anyone did for him. That team was 1-15. Those were some good Pittsburgh offenses with Kordell Stewart and Tommy Maddox at QB.

RE: How bad do you hate Mularkeys play calling? And do you want him gone?
I also think part of the problem is that people's expectations of Ryan might be a little bit too high. He's not Peyton Manning and I highly doubt the Falcons offense will ever be that of the Colts where Ryan averages close to 300 yards and 3 touchdowns per game. Ryan is who he is. That's a solid QB that when the game is on the line will make the plays more to win more times than not but I don't foresee him being a guy that puts up eye popping numbers like many want. I'm trying to think of the right guy to compare Ryan too and I've having a little trouble with that right now. The only person coming to mind that I think would be a fair comparsion to is Mark Brunell when he was in his prime with the Jaguars in the late 90s.
