They need to get the shit hammered out.. i seriously doubt the american public would have much sympathy for either side when people are losing jobs , trying to hang on to thier houses and all kinds of companies are going belly up.

Question #1: The $8 billion in annual owner revenue is such an important number because the owners are claiming they are in financial trouble and therefore are adamant in reducing the share of league revenue for players by ~18% ($1 billion) beginning next year. After hearing of the record-breaking TV deals the NFL has just received and looking at the record-breaking TV ratings, it's hard to believe the league is in trouble. Now if the owners open their books (which they continue to refuse to do) and proved they are in trouble, the players would be more than willing to take said pay cut required to save the league.

Question #2: The players will not be paid for playing those 2 additional games in the 18-Game plan. The owners, as previously mentioned are even asking for a larger portion of the players salaries in their new proposal.


Now here's what this all means in general worker/employer terms: Your boss asks you to take a pay cut and you refuse, so he threatens to lay you off. He comes back with another offer and says you can keep your job at the same pay grade if you just come in and work weekends as well. Nobody would be happy with either proposal. You'd simply want to work for your current paycheck, just as the players simply want to play ball next year.

It assuredly did. You are on the side, not of the owners. They are making money and so are the players last we checked with the multi-million $ contracts. Many NFL players, retired and active are making very good money and now there's a retirement deal, correct me if I'm wrong, for players.

I hope I clear something up for you. There are many fans who don't care about anything but the games being played. There are many fans who keep up with things and know the problem is not the owners. If next season is damaged in any way it will be the union and the players at fault. But what we'll get, like we get from you, is the owners are the problem.

Demorrio Smith is a Chicago thug. That's my opinion. Thank you for verifying what many of us thought all along.

LOL I agree! NFL Lockout, the very term means the owners are to blame.
