Sorry phocis 850 but I have too much experience with c level management. Glad to be retired.

The big picture never includes the people who make everything possible.

I love the Falcons and to hell with anyone who doesn't!

RE: Help Stop the Lockout on the 18th!
I just cannot take the Player's sides, nor can I take the owner's sides.

I take the Fans' sides... both are looking at us like cash cows. Rookie cap, cut ticket prices, less preseason... these things that make the game better and cut my cost are a good thing. I'm tired of both sides trying to see just how much they can get from me and fighting to divide it, rather than seeing what is fair value for me, and being equitable in their negotiations on where that goes.

Thanks for passing along that note from Kevin Mawae and thanks to those who participated in #LetUsPlay Day. The day was incredibly successful and we even got #LetUsPlay to be a trending topic worldwide in due to your support.

To make sure your anti-lockout vigor and dedication doesn't go unnoticed, I want to pass along this clip of 49ers LB Patrick Willis thanking you all for taking part in #LetUsPlay Day.

And if you missed any of that coverage, know that the players are on the fans' side in this matter. They simply want to play. They are happy with their current contract, but the owners have opted out of it and will be locking the players out of their jobs.

Thanks for continuing to block the lockout!

RE: Help Stop the Lockout on the 18th!
yeah, i'm not taking the side of the players.......I think that both sides have things that need to be given to make this thing continue and make better:

1) Rookie Wage Scale (no more $40 million guarantees at top of draft)
2) More equitable split of profits for owners (60/40)
3) Players share in all revenue streams (licensing, merchandise, etc)
4) Salary Cap continues but a salary floor must be implemented as well
5) Players with 5+ years of NFL service get lifetime healthcare or <5 years if devasting injury(TBD). This open-ended liability justifies the 60/40 split as this will really be expensive.
6) Players get to free agency quicker - 3-4yr max length on rookie deals
7) Teams continue to get 1 franchise tag/yr. - can never franchise player more than twice in his career
8) Teams can only designate a player as a restricted free agent once.

I refuse to take a side without knowing the whole story. But at this point I'm not sure that we'll see NFL in 2010

Feel free to ask questions if you want to learn more facts as we approach the March 3 expiration of the CBA (or beyond that date for that matter). I'll be around to answer them for you. Or I'm sure your fellow fans here have answers as well.

i take our side, the fans. Football is a business. the owners who drive up the prices are no different to me than the big oil companies raising the price of gas and boasting of billions of dollars of profit, while most of us 'regular guys' live paycheck to paycheck. and suffer through the cost of filling the tank once a week or so.
the players are just as guilty, although if i had the god given talent and could find some fool to pay me millions of dollars to use that talent for his organization, yeah i'd take it.

but it has to have a limit somewhere. it's like the price of new cars, they keep going up, and people keep buying them. stop buying them, the manufacturers would realize they'd have to lower the prices. the workers who make 30 and 40 dollar an hour might realize they're lucky to have a job and take a pay cut. stop buying tickets, jerseys, whatever else they're selling, the price would have to come down.

Chew on THAT, Petunia!

Explain Demorrio Smith's constant harping on $8 mil, or is it bil, they, the owners earn in profit each season?

How will the 18 game season effect salaries?,...if at all?

RE: Help Stop the Lockout on the 18th!
I'm assuming the 18 game schedule is a big reason why a lot of the players are pissed off, but I haven't followed that issue very much. The only thing I know is that Roger Goodell sent me an email stating that the 18 game proposition is "for the fans", so who knows what's going on.

"employee of the month is a perfect example of how somebody can be both a winner and a loser.". -Demetri Martin.

pfffft! For the fans,...amazing deception. It's about money and that's about as obvious as obvious can be.
