Neg rep for this post. You can't be serious. This team finds ways to WIN and we have people thinking that is a negative?? Wow.

neg rep should be for things said violating code of conduct or something completely out of line. i dont neg you for being a blind homer. thats your opinion and i respect it.

i was at the game and it was atrocious for the first half and parts of the 2nd half. this offense is NOT consistent at all. i like winning, and i dont mind if luck plays a part all the way to the super bowl. i just call it how i see it and think there are serious issues with our dependency on home run plays. we already saw what a good defense like pitt does. we die without the big plays.

+1 for calling it how you see it,

I am the same way - I said the Longhorns weren't any good on the Orangebloods forums and got banned for telling the truth.........and I'm the biggest Longhorns fan I know

we die without the big plays? this is the first game weve even had a big, long plays (turners run and roddys TD catch). every other game we have used a bunch of short plays and long drives. so how do we die without the big plays when weve won every other game without big plays offensively. i agree the offense is not consistent, but to say we depend on homerun plays doesnt make any sense.. because weve had not had any homerun plays to depend on until yesterday.

Now that is the truth.

RE: Hello, my name is Trent Dilfer, and the Falcons could easily be 1-4 right now
I see both points of view - zigg zags and the rest of you.

While the bottom-line is winning, and the Falcons are doing that, I do not think any of us is satisfied with the efficiency of the offense. In the first half of Browns game, the Falcons WRs were NOT OPEN - not at all. I believe Falcons have enough weapons in Roddy, TG, HD, Turner & Snelling that nobody should be able to consistently stop our offense. I probably would have blamed Matty Ice but FOX kept showing the camera focusing on the WRs out in the pass patterns and they were consistently covered - not Ryan's fault.

Falcons have won and found ways to win when they are not playing at a high level on offense - that is grit, determination and tenacity - Falcons get "A" grade in all of those categories. Defense has played well overall and gets a "B+" grade as well.

However, there is something overall lacking in Falcons offense - the "sum of the whole" is less than the parts. Falcons offense should be high-powered and its clearly not. Sure Falcons can make the playoffs as the way they are currently playing. But who hear really believes we can win playoff games and advance to the SuperBowl if our Falcons offense does not find a more consistent rhythm? I don't.......

I think Mike Mularkey is a big part of the problem - I think he can take over a team and make a bad offense good - just not sure that he can ever make a good offense great. I think our passing schemes are too generic and easily defensed by good defenses.

If we we're the Steelers or the Ravens people would be falling over themselves to praise our defense and declaring us Superbowl frontrunners. But because the Falcon name right now is more synanomous with offense than defense, people see our offensive struggles and declare us lucky.
