It sucks, but thats football. We played tough. Our offense sucked balls, and Smith Punted our game away. Dumb call on that 4th down. But thats football.

I really didn't feel they played better than us. They basically got 14 points wrapped up as gift. I think we are not our usual selves when we play NO and we should change that. The usual Atlanta falcons would have won this game.

I don't know if I would say there were 14 points wrapped as a gift.... This was a very hard fought defensive game on both ends. You guys got a lot of pressure on Brees, and were "handed" 7 points on a boneheaded play by Brees. (not that I think it was handed because the type of pressure applied in that situation causes those things, but I was just trying to make a point) In the end, I think this was a very tough game, and could have gone either way... just like the first one. If we manage to meet again in the playoffs it will definitely be a GREAT round three.

I can dig that, but there is a difference between a stupid INT and a straight FAIL on a snap. McClure should have a failmeme for that. Yall actually took the ball from Turner so I won't call that a gift "The Lord say in your heart you should bare no hate/ But I flip the world a Dirty Bird, I aint no saint"- Kaedus |

I didn't say that to slight what the Saints did but those were 14 points from mistakes from two players who all year long hadn't done anything like that. My point was that I won't particularly worry about such mistakes. They were individual mistakes that were not really created by great defensive play. On the other hand Brees' INT for TD was not that out of character for him, at least not this year. Apart from the very first INT he threw the first game, he had the behind the back pass few plays earlier. Everyone praised him because it worked but it was an equally boneheaded play that would result in a fumble at least half the time. Also, the second INT he threw almost went for a TD as well if he hadn't tackled Abraham (I thought that tackle was his bet play of the game because it really saved the game from getting out of hand). |

Definitely true, I couldnt believe that snap just rolled around on the turf as long as it did either, definitely a one in a million mistake (12-28-2010 01:59 AM)dmo_dlo Wrote: I didn't say that to slight what the Saints did but those were 14 points from mistakes from two players who all year long hadn't done anything like that. All were excellent points, the Brees error definitely wasnt out of character for him this year, and the no look point guard assist to Pierre was definitely stupid in my opinion. That can easily be a fumble going the other way for six. However, while the McClure fumble was out of character and unforced, I don't think you can say the same for Turner. While it may be out of Character it was still forced by a tough defense. I was a little suprised you guys didnt take more shots with Roddy. Im sure he was bracketed most of the game, but he was making Greer look absolutely stupid out there.

RE: Hats off to the Saints they beat us in our house.
I give the Saints defense their props, no one had shut down our offense like that this season. Holding our offense to 7 points in the dome is quite a feat.
They did a great job on Turner, and also limited TG and Roddy. Our defense played one of their best games, too, it;s a shame to waste it. |
