Mendenhall run: (pancaked the DLmen and our LB's were out of position)

Both of which are fixable.

I want to see how we do against a good qb next week. Jenkins should be back and we can spread their defense thin as they attempt to spread us as well.

Not for nothing - but Brees is not a "good qb". That's like saying Peyton Manning is a game manager.

It starts up front man. Its easier to play IN position when your middle takes up blocks and thats real talk.

I am happy about the line for the most part. I was pleased to have guys like Babineaux, Jerry, and Anderson playing two gap. We need a presence at NT that we do not have. Peters was an unnecessary pick IMO. Why on Earth did we not get an anchor this offseason? Even Indianpolis gets it with size guys in the middle and it seems to be paying off.

Twice in a row is not good. We have been gashed twice regardless of who was out of position. It starts up front. If the guys can hold their position up front and take up run blocks then there will be less need for us to wonder about the secondary. We got gashed this week by a back-up RB.

First time its a fluke the second time its a concern. By the third time (we play against two guys who have hurt us in the past) then its starting to become a pattern. The Saints WILL run the ball against us after watching the tapes.

I saw DeCoud having to jump over Spoon being blocked into him, taking him out of position to make the TD saving tackle.

Whatever the case, you are right in that the D-line had nothing to do with any of it.

I am pleased to announce that AtlantaFalconsTalk will be creating a new "Support Groups" category later in the week.

The first forum in the "Support Groups" category will be the "Please help me accept the fact that Brent Grimes is the starting LCB of the Atlanta Falcons" forum.

If the middle is taking up more than one block then this won't b the case as easily.

I am in the Owens camp, but I am not going to down Grimes. I think they both offer alot and bring diffrent aspects of play CB. Both seem to do it at a solid level.

I like Grimes playing this upcoming week, but I perfer Owens when we play San Fran.

Just the way I look at it.

For me its harder to choose than I'll let on. I've warmed up to Grimes, he looked more solid out there than I am use to. Owens is just a nastier player over all. Robinson played pretty well yesterday as well.

I understand the concept. But in this case, it wasn't the middle that failed to do its job.

And let's not just write off the other 31 rushing attempts against us this season in which our line has held opposing RBs to just 105 total yards and a 3.3 YPC average.

This line has been good against the run dating back to last season. The recent two long runs are the fluke, not the countless times they have shut the opposing team's running game down over the past two years.

RE: Great Game, Learned Alot
I love Owens nasty mentaility,

Moore, Owens, Robinson really should make people hear foot steps.
Which leads to more drops etc.

but it is Grimes job, and has done nothing to lose it and Owens has done nothing to take it.
Both play at a really high level, and I am not worried when one subs for the other.

In fact, now that Jackson is gone I no longer know for sure where the O is throwing before the snap.
