Grade These Under The Radar Falcons

The Falcons have been on a masterful run this year, and many of our stars have shown bright to get us on the road to homefield advantage. We have grown accustomed to lauding the play of Turner, Ryan, Grimes, and Abe (to name a few) nearly every week. But what about those players whose names aren't talked about as much--but may have proven just as important to our success?

Below is a list of 10 Falcons who don't get talked about much. How would you grade the type of season they are having for us AND why? Also, how important a role do you think these players will play past this season?

C Todd McClure

CB Brian Williams

DT/DE Jamaal Anderson

DT Corey Peters

DT Vance Walker

LB Mike Peterson

LB Stephen Nicholas

FS Thomas DeCoud

P Michael Koenen

Man you cannot run a screen while Vance Walker is in the game........ He may be our smartest guy on the d line.... or most aware. I give em the grade of above average.

[Anomaly]

LG Justin Blalock: B+ Dont remember hearing him called for holding much so that's good.

C Todd McClure: B+ See Blalock.

CB Brian Williams: B Gets to the QB when sent on blitzes. Haven't noticed him much in coverage.

DT/DE Jamaal Anderson: C+ The only play I remember distinctly is the pressure on Brees forcing the int.

DT Corey Peters: B Appears to be pretty good in run support but I never see him close to the QB. Very happy with his play while Jerry fully heals.

DT Vance Walker: ? I only remember seeing him make a few tackles and they were just assists after the LBs got there.

LB Mike Peterson: B- Has been beat in coverage from time to time but can get pressure on the QB. Unfortunately he can't always finish.

LB Stephen Nicholas: B Filled in nicely for Spoon

FS Thomas DeCoud: C- Has had a lot of mental lapses this year allowing big plays.

P Michael Koenen: C- Way too many bad punts allowing big returns for my liking.

Also I was a big believer in Nicholas taking Peterson's spot, but Peterson has been doing okay..... Nicholas was all over the field when Spoon was out. 54 needs to stay on this team. B +
