Kind of wild to see a HS kicker attempt a 60 yard FG. You don't see that every day.

WOW! I didn't play ball in HS, but was a band geek and FB fan, so I saw a lot of HS games. I have never seen that in a HS game. I did see a kicker receive the snap and throw for a TD once. Too bad it wasn't my HS team that did it. Sad

Well, it's worth pointing out that Gardocki was a legendary HS football kicker. It's pretty ironic that he ended up playing 16 seasons in the NFL exclusively as a punter, without ever making a regular season FG attempt.

We are talking about a guy that started as a true freshman at Clemson and was so good in college that he left school a year early and was drafted in the 3rd round.

I mean, when was the last time that you heard of a FG kicker leaving school early?

By the way, I was also in the band, which is why I was at that game.

Ironically, that game I mentioned was the very last of Huey Richardson's HS career, who was the answer to my last trivia question.

Can't say I ever have, that I recall. Even a kicker in the 3rd round is pretty dang high. This is another position on the Falcons that will be interesting to see if/how they address this offseason. 16 seasons, and not one FG attempt, that's pretty interesting too. Was he w/the Bears for that entire stretch? That would make it even more amazing.

Nah. 4 years in Chicago, 4 years in Indy, 5 in Cleveland, 3 in Pittsburgh.
