My only problem with this is NOBODY KNOWS who is going to be a stud in the NFL and who is not. It is nothing but pure speculation on PROSPECTS. Who knew that Tom Brady selected as a conditional draft pick would turn out to be one of the greatest QB's to play the game? Or that Ryan Leaf would be the biggest draft bust in the history of the NFL. Everything leading up to the draft is pure speculation. Matt Leinart won the Heisman Trophy in college as "the best college player" in the nation. We all see how that translates to the NFL.

all the news is that negotiations are moving at a snails pace, if moving at all. i do think a deal gets done, but i don't expect it until summer. not saying it can't happen before then, it could. but it would take some definite change of attitude on both sides!

personally i see the NFLPA being more hard assed right now than the owners, maybe that's just me, but taking it to the news and congress instead of trying to sit down and work out things just stinks to me. all parties stand to lose tremendous amounts of money, they'll get something worked out, but i think it will be summer before the union gets serious about working out details. wow, i hope i'm wrong

Qb position is hard to tell but you can see the play makers on college level and trans late them to NFL game . The Deshaun Jackson/ Patrick Willis / Dez Bryant you see there explosiveness on college level yea some times it doesn't translate to pro level .

TD has take a chance though even what might be a characther concern he has to think he has leadership in locker room to over come and correct . I was never high on Douglas pick . I thought we should have grabbed Manningham over Douglas but he dropped and TD overlooked the talent and went safer route

I think it won't get done before June for one simple reason - it does not have to get done by then.......typically deals get done when there is pressure on both sides to hammer something out. Well.........there won't be any real pressure to get a deal done until then. Get ready for a 4 month long pissing contest between now and then.

I think they are putting too much into character concerns as far as players go. However, given that players demand so much money, and our most recent HUGE money player (YKW), I can understand why character plays a huge part in their decision making process. We don't need to be throwing $100 million dollars at another player who will just laugh and do stupid shit to not only hurt the team on the field, but hurt the team financially as well.

CBA will get done before June . There is too much money to be made and especially looking at the ratings of playoffs and what's to come in Super Bowl . I'm going to say 10-15 days into March it gets done .

Swift, the problem is - Falcons really do need to "go for it" a little bit right now. We have Tony Gonzalez for probably one more year and Michael Turner probably has one more good season in those tree trunk legs of his. Roddy should be good for three more years but Falcons have a chance now.

"Yes" the Dunta contract was an awful one - but you cannot just go hide in free agency because you made a mistake on Dunta - I don't think Dunta is awful but clearly the Falcons overpaid for him - and given our soft coverage, this makes Dunta look a little worse than he really is.

I think Dimitroff will be aggressive in Free Agency - but he won't give away draft picks like the Foreskins do....

You make a good point, and it's kind of scary if the FA period is after the draft. Obviously we would all hope it isn't. But it's looking like it may be. I'm sure Dimitroff already has thought of the situation though, and has a plan if it does happen. Or at least, I would hope so. I don't think we go through the 1st 2 rounds without taking a defensive player though. That's my thought.

Now, to the players you mentioned, I like everyone on that list except Cromartie. I hope the Falcons don't go anywhere near Cromartie. After watching him get burned week in and week out opposite of Revis, I can't even consider him a decent corner. People will say "He was targeted being opposite of Revis." Well, of course he was, but he was brought in because they thought he was a decent cover guy who could keep the number of big plays down, and he didn't. The receivers burned him, not the QB's.

The thought of FA signing after the draft is a bit dissappointing. I was hoping for an immediate impact DE. OH WELL.
