No crucifixions here. My alter ego and his faith is not into that. On the other hand, an exorcism may be in order.

I get it, you think we're copycats, we chose wrong again, we've maxed out, we've hit the ceiling just as in 2005-6, it's panic time.

I think we're just getting started. We're the winningest team in the NFC since Smith took over, we just won the NFC South and finished 13-3. In the last 3 years we are 33-15. With a winning percent of 68% I find it hard to see the downward trend. I think we'll be back. Rome wasn't built in a day.

I'm glad that getting our butts kicked and looking stupid doing it in front of the world in the playoffs didn't spoil that for me, honestly it sucks for anyone that it did. I used to be that way, it wasn't any fun.

I think my expectations are just a little different now. Back when this staff was hired, my expectations were to try to be competitive enough to sneak in the playoffs by the 3rd year. We are way ahead of the curve as far as I'm concerned.

Obviously, we still have a long way to go.

Good question.

What the fuck does "questioning" mean anyways? Go talk to Mike Smith or Thomas Dimitroff. Why don't you debate them on the post-season merits of this football team. Tell me how that goes.

The Falcons did win a championship fool. A division title and it must've slipped that mind. Why are you cursing? Are words like that allowed here?

Any paying fan of the team has the right to critique his/her team.

By year 3 we expected 13 wins and expected going further in the playoffs. Whatever your angry ass expected means nothing to us.

ok sticking my .02 in here. the way i've read this, penumbra clearly stated that he suggested this team isn't built to win championships. my quote from radical (the second bolded part) is in quotes, where he was quoting penumbra saying that. the he calls radical a fool, saying that "the Falcons did win a championship, a division title and it must've slipped that mind"

seems that slipped his own mind, he was the one who originally stated "this team isn't built to win championships'

i usually stay out of peoples arguments, but some who've added to this post are reading it differently than i am.

Yeah, we won the division championship. In year three of the process. In those three years of 'the process' we have the best record in the NFC, our coach has won coach of the year twice, our franchise QB has tied the records of Danny White for wins at home, and Dan Marino's overall wins in the first 3 years of his career. If any one of us could have seen that after 07, we'd probably still be cleaning up from the parades and parties. Chill people, the loss saturday hurt, but we have SUCH a brighter future for the next decade than we've had the at any time in the last decade....

Chew on THAT, Petunia!

You want to play silly semantics games now? Play-offs, Superbowl wins.

What is the critique? You said we can't win in the play-offs.

I apologize for the fool remark radical. I'm sorry man,...just still hurting from that loss.

All these stats mean nothing,...13 wins means nothing to me. I wanna see greasy fingerprints all over the Lombardi trophy.

Ya'll are all great Falcons fans and I love every one of you, ahem, as we men can do sometimes.

You are right Chaz,...never have we had a more promising future. But,...we can still be critical of things. Wink

Oh look. I argued with Swifty on the internet and now he's going to follow me around and butt buddy up with anyone who disagrees with me. What's next, are you going to bump old threads and call me stupid? I'm a class above you Swifty.

yes we can...if i put my whole list on here of things i'm critical of, wow my fingers would get tired. I never said we couldn't be critical. but we're not privy to coaches/team meetings, we don't know their thought process, we couldn't change it if we did know. here's my biggest right here:

for me, the biggest thing is the inability to make in game changes. or the stubborness not to, whichever it is. we saw it in the offensive game plans in the 4 losses for sure, and in a lot of games on the defense. The fact that even tho Abe was held out of the Rams game, Sid got no playing time. Owens got owned, yet wasn't pulled for Franks, or Coleman not put at FS and move WillieMo or DeCoud up to nickel...i could go on and on, but it's the apparent failure to make changes during the game.

Yeah, we can be critical, and curious, or whatever you want to call it. Next years schedule will be tough, but how many playoff teams did we play this year?I got 7, all of the NFC except CHI, Pitt and BAL on the AFC side. we won against all those except 3, and the only game we weren't in really (reg season) was the Philly game. see the paragraph above, we couldn't/wouldn't/didn't make adjustments. thats exactly what i saw in the game Saturday.

but yes we can have such good hopes for the next several years. I wouldn't say ever, i thought that after 1980, 1998, 04.....while the loss definitely hurts still, i haven't stopped wearing my Falcons gear in public, and won't

Chew on THAT, Petunia!
