I am going to say this the nicest way I can about that bit you posted - I think the dude is desperately grasping at straws to find something to criticize about Mike Smith.

Personally, I am OK with the coach that says "I am glad you guys did your job today just like I expected that you would" after a big game instead of "YAY, look at us, aren't we special!!!!!!!!"

Save that shit for when he is standing up on the platform after Super Bowl 45 holding up the Lombardi trophy.

Please let me co-sign.

RE: Fan article questioning Smitty
At no point in time should a good head coach praise his team for a victory unless it's after the superbowl. I don't care if you won the game 65-0, there is always work to be done. Never give your players the impression that their job is done. They can always improve as an individual and as a team. When a player receives praise they start to slack off. Smitty is doing a damn fine job of keeping the players focused. That is why we have not slipped up against teams that were "inferior on paper" to us.

This is a perfect example of why I don't read bleacher report articles.

TV presser Smitty is different from locker room/practice field Smitty.

Ive seen Smitty enough on the field and I can see the word fuck, come out, smitty just knows when hes on the camera in the locker room and all, Hes not a Buffoon like Rex Ryan is. Whoever wrote this, truly needs his head checked. Tongue

Listen to Smitty in any interveiw. He is hoarse as hell so anyone who thinks Smitty doesn't have fire doesn't watch the Falcons!

I love the Falcons and to hell with anyone who doesn't!

Agreed. Every time I hear him after games he can barely talk and I've seen him red as a lobster during games from screaming at officials. Jim Mora's theatrics are so much more entertaining though....
