Rex Ryan's style doesn't even begin to do much for a team that's losing or facing adversity.

I don't think there's a more positive leader in the NFL than Mike Smith, and that's including Bill Belichick(who is a great leader in his own way, but there's been some history of players not really being up on him).

Very valid point. When things are going badly, attention is the last thing a team needs and that's exactly what Rex will always bring. Smitty gets the most out of his guys which is why they play 60 minutes of good disciplined football vs good teams. The Jets have beat.... 1. Patriots 2. Miami 3. Houston 4. Minnesota 5. Cleveland 6. Denver 7. Detroit 8. Buffalo 9. Cincy. That's 37 wins and 62 losses. Take away the Jets games vs them and that's 37 wins and 53 losses.

They've also had some bad losses as well. I['d be willing to bet that you'll never see a Falcons team under Smith that gets shut out at home.

lmao I agree. I also let the Jets have it for that and he came at me with the "What's the difference if we lost 27-18" approach. I shook my damn head.
Also the two teams that beat the Jets, WE BEAT. I think the most dangerous teams besides ATL are San Diego and Philly right now (even with the Bears win).

RE: Fan article questioning Smitty
He isn't a fan, so he couldn't know about MeAngelo Hall's return to the ATL and the quiet discussion the got into with Smith on the sideline. The team knows who and what Smith is and they fully understand his point and have his back, as they know he has theirs as well.

Ignorance can be educated.....Stupidity is to the bone.

Oh he knows about that, I showed him it awhile back. Haters are just gonna hate I guess.
He texted me before the game against Green Bay "this is your test", fully expecting the Packers to win and now he's just plain mad.

I think Smitty is handling things just fine, thankyouverymuch. He doesn't need any advice from this amateur bonehead.

RE: Fan article questioning Smitty
It's hilarious that your friend is a Jets fan and feels this way. It is the Rex Ryan's of the world that eventually lose their team, not the Mike Smith's.

I am going to say this the nicest way I can about that bit you posted - I think the dude is desperately grasping at straws to find something to criticize about Mike Smith.

Personally, I am OK with the coach that says "I am glad you guys did your job today just like I expected that you would" after a big game instead of "YAY, look at us, aren't we special!!!!!!!!"

Save that shit for when he is standing up on the platform after Super Bowl 45 holding up the Lombardi trophy.

All this tells me about your friend and is that he doesn't want to see the falcons in the super bowl. Like peyton said he is grasping and he is scared of this team. Now it doesn't matter if he is scared or not. That's left up to the teams, but we are striking fear in fans. Soon enough it will be coaches and teams.

I think he's grasping at straws too. He expected the Jets to dominate and the Falcons to win 9 games all year and now he can't talk shit.
Remember how Rex broke down and CRIED to his team last year? Kind of convenient that that's been forgotten.
