Falcons: why am I not concerned ?

Posted this in an older thread (I'm catching up), but this belonged here instead, with some additions.

We're not playing for anything right now. Hard to get fired up over nothing. Panties were playing for their jobs. We played not to get hurt.

Looking at the schedule, we want to win next week, not this week. This week means nothing if we win next week.

So the guys looked ahead. With 11 wins, I'll allow that. So long as they win next week, people will be talking us up, and this game won't matter. Even if we won today, we lose next week this one won't matter.

Essentially, this game didn't matter. We played like it. Big deal. We came out expecting to win without effort... big mistake, but one we could afford. Hopefully it taught us something. Long, hard seasons are hard to stay 100% focused on when early success happens. Our funk is from a lack of targets we feel necessary to attack with all our might. Next week should again give us one.

Let's get that win next week against the defending champs, and rest until the playoffs!
