Chase Coffman - TE, played at MO, I remember seeing a LOT of people wanting us to draft him back in 2009. I don't think I knew he had broken an ankle that year. wonder why he never made it back with the bungals or the sucs....he was pretty well thought of coming out of college wasn't he?

Lousaka Polite - FB undrafted but signed by DAL in 2004, played there for 3 years, also played with da bears, the phins, and most recently the Pats, who cut him in march. played his college ball at Pitt.

They waived TE Adam Nissley and punter Dawson Zimmerman

Interesting, I definitely remember Coffman and bringing in a FB only makes sense.

I really wanted Coffman in that draft and was pissed when the Bengals got him. Then the Bengals were on Hard Knocks that year and Coffman struggled mightily, especially in pass protection. He was basically a glorified slot receiver in Missouri's spread system. I hope that he's increased his strength and blocking technique.

He's definitely more of a pass catch than blocker. I just checked his professional stats. As an NFL player since 2009, he has 3 catches for 30 yards. I'm not getting excited about him.

well I just read an article on him that said he broke a foot in the Alamo Bowl that year. couldn't do the combine, missed all of OTA's. He was never used to block in college, so it was something they were going to have to teach him NFL technique on.

to hear him, it took a lot longer for him to fully heal, and they'd pretty much given up on him. he signed with the sucs, but then they went out and signed dallas clark, and pretty much told him he was gonna be the guy and cut him so he could have a chance with somewhere else. maybe we can teach him to block. something else too, remember he was with the bungals.....so only having single digit catches for small numbers shouldn't really be surprising, should it? I think they went the next year and drafted another TE...

If it makes you feel any better he was the 3rd string TE. Plus that was the time of the Chad Johnson era. Speaking of Johnson, the Dolphins just released him due to his dv case.
