You got that shit right. Smile

There is tons of football to be played. I might be called a homer, and do not care, but I certainly will not go into panic mode due to a 2-3 record. We have lost to the defending Superbowl Champs, a team that went to the NFCCG, and a tough divisional rival. We have beaten two playoff teams from last season. Our offense with JJ looks more dynamic and our defense has shown some really good things through the first five game.

We have to finish games, close out teams; however you want to put it. The execution errors, penalties, and terrible ST play (before GB) needs to be fixed. There is plenty of time to tweak our schemes and I see no reason why our coaches can not get it handled. They tweaked our OLine and they are performing much better recently. They have been known as a very consistent coaching staff over the past 3+ years and have made very few errors in terms of preparation.

Its time to step it up and start smashing teams.

RE: we WILL finish the season....
10 - 6 seems a reasonable prediction. I wrote a post for Blogging Dirty explaining why the Falcons WILL make the playoffs.

Standing at 2-3, there are very few reasons to be positive right now, but there is one factor that leads me to believe the Falcons will make the playoffs.

That is the schedule.

Let’s start by saying last year at about this time in the year, when the Falcons were at 5-2, I said they would finish 13-3 by just looking at the remaining games on the schedule. I even predicted the game they would lose (at home to the saints).
Looking through this year’s schedule (baring in mind there are some tough picks) i think the Falcons will finish 10-6. I have come to that conclusion by saying the Falcons should win @Indy, vs Titans, vs Vikings, vs Jags, vs TB and vs Car. Those I feel we should win. The remaining 5 games are @Hou, @Detroit, @NO, @Carolina, and NO at home, out of those five I say we win 2.

Does this seem plausible? I should also mention I did the same for the Bucs and the Saints. The Bucs finished at 8-8 and the Saints finished 13-3. So based on these predictions the Saints will win the NFC South, which leaves the Falcons to compete for a wild card spot.

Let’s assume that Detroit carries on their good run and occupies one of the wild card spots. Who gets the other spot in the NFC? I think Atlanta does and at this stage in the season, 10-6 looks like to would be enough to secure a spot in the playoffs.

I believe it is plausible. But, the difference between this season and last is that of consistency. We don't have any this year.

I think they can do it but I'm not so sure they will. The 1st half showed they are capable of being creative. The 2nd half showed they are stubborn. I've yet to see anything close to 60 minutes from the players or the coaches. If they are unable to do that I expect more of the same. I hope they can put it together, I've just not seen much evidence of it. Plenty of time left, I think we will have a very good idea by game 8

hopefully we do enough to at least nab a wild card spot. 5 south games left.

If we were to win eleven straight games and go 13 - 3, I would bet the farm that we win a playoff game. That would be beyond incredible. The Chargers did it back in 2007 I believe. They started off 2 - 3, Norv Turner was under scrutiny, and the team was in disarray. Somehow, they managed to win 11 straight, won their division and nabbed the #2 seed.
