Falcons vs. Eagles (Playoffs)
I would like to get a consensus regarding how everyone feels about our chances, in the Playoffs, if we DO run up against a healthy Vick and the Eagles. Personally, I think it will be a much better showing by us. We seem to rise to the occasion and rarely have a terrible game. It just so happens that the Eagles are our Kryptonite in recent years.
How does the game play out? Do you think we will get home field and if we do, will the difference it makes be enormous? Do we have the speed at LB to "shadow" Vick or the presence at DE to not break contain? This is the only matchup I am even thinking about at this point. I really enjoyed our time with Vick under center and KNOW how great of a football player he is. Its hard to shake those memories and have faith that our defense can minimize his abilities. He has a variety of explosive outlets for his passes and can destroy a team that loses focus in the front seven. I think we can win, of course, but know how easily things can get out of control against Andy Reed and his club. |

RE: Falcons vs. Eagles (Playoffs)
I'd like to avoid the Eagles at all cost because matchup wise it's a bad one for us.. Sure at home we have a good chance because we're good but in Philly in January not a chance in hell. That's why winning this game on Sunday is important.. We could go from the #1 seed to the #3 seed in a day.

I am glad I will be home by Sunday. ![]() I too think that playing in weather at an outdoor stadium will be a huge hurdle. Hopefully we take care of business this weekend and stay on track for home field throughout. |

RE: Falcons vs. Eagles (Playoffs)
Thing is, Vick never played well in bad weather either, and it's been pretty nice up here in the NE until this week. I wonder how effective he's going to be in the late season weather. He still has to face the Giants in NJ, Bears in Chicago, and the Cowboys at home.
That said, we need to win out. We can't afford risk losing Homefield advantage. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_3CXS04cy...re=related |

I dont remember his stats for that game, off the top of my head, but we did pull out the win. Lets hope youre right Paulitik and he starts struggling. |

Even so, his home team is in cold weather town now, so I imagine he's probably adapting alright. Dude has many innate chameleon-like attributes as it is. Brent Grimes ~ "I want the ball, man!"

RE: Falcons vs. Eagles (Playoffs)
I hate to say this, but a home game in the NFC CG against the Eagles would actually NOT be as much of an advantage as we would like. With so many Vick fans still residing in Atlanta, it's almost impossible to have home field advantage playing them. However, it would be more of a home field advantage simply because we aren't in Philly.
I do not want to face the Eagles. We do not have the secondary to stop Jackson and Maclin, while containing Vick. We would have to run a bunch of zone coverages, and we have seen how we struggle in zone this year. Too many times we try and blitz while in zone and it winds up biting us in the ass. It would be a tough matchup, but I would be hoping that our offense could keep putting up points on them.
