RE: redesign the OL
Here's the way I see it playing out next season.

LT-Bell, Svitek
LG-Blalock, Chambers
C-Hawley, Romberg
RG-Johnson, Jackson
RT-Clabo, Svitek

Baker is done, I think you give Reynolds another year to see if he can improve. We will draft at least 1 OL maybe 2 depending on BPA at the time.

Hawley needs to step up along with Mike Johnson next season as starters.

Maybe we sign McClure to a 1yr deal if Hawley isn't ready yet.

I just don't see signing 2 high priced FA's when we also need a few upgrades on the defensive side.

I disagree that Baker is done. I think that he should be invited to camp to compete for a job. I also believe that he will show up healthy and prepared to battle. Having said that, I believe that he would not win a camp battle with Demetrius Bell. I see him settling in as a starter or back up at RT.

I do not know what Johnson nor Jackson can do. We know that Hawley and Reynolds beat both of them this season (injuries, etc.). There is an outside chance that Clabo could be moved to the RG position, if Baker is deamed worthy of a RT spot.

No one can know how this will play out. We do know that competition is necessary and that will probably require the signing of a free agent as well as a draft pick along the OL.

RE: redesign the OL
Carl Nicks is the best overall offensive lineman in the NFL. Better than his teammate Jahri Evans, and better than Joe Thomas. With that said, the chances of us signing him are about equal to Rosie O'Donnell enrolling at the University of Georgia to walk on as an offensive lineman. He'll get paid a ton of money, and will be worth every penny. Unfortunately, I think TD has too much trust into his drafted guards to pay that much for an interior lineman.
