Atlanta coach Mike Smith, like many other coaches, plays it close to the vest when talking about injuries. But he’s not going to dance around with Sean Weatherspoon’s status this week.

Smith went ahead Monday and said the rookie linebacker will miss his second straight game with a knee injury. Ruling Weatherspoon out for Sunday’s game with Cincinnati makes sense on several levels. The Falcons have a competent backup in Stephen Nicholas. They also have a bye coming up after the Cincinnati game. It makes lots of sense to rest Weatherspoon and hope he can come back after the bye.

Smith also said that cornerback Dunta Robinson suffered a concussion in Sunday’s loss at Philadelphia. Robinson was involved in a helmet-to-helmet collision with Philadelphia receiver DeSean Jackson and both players had to leave the game.

Smith didn’t say if Robinson will be available against the Bengals and star receivers Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco. If Robinson can’t play, the Falcons likely would go with Brent Grimes, Chris Owens and Brian Williams as their top three cornerbacks.
Kind of a lazy article by Pat Y, but whatever

If Dunta doesn't play, this game will put an end to the Grimes v Owens debate.

I'd have thought they'd activate franks any way if he wasn't already as going with 3 corners for the game sound like a bad idea
