Falcons have contract extension waiting for Mike Smith: AJC

FLOWERY BRANCH -- Falcons coach Mike Smith will be awarded a contract extension as the team's first order of business this offseason, according to a person familiar with the situation.


Obviously this was going to happen, but I wonder how much he will get. He obviously deserves what we give him, as he is one of the main keys to our success. New England's Bill Belichick ($7.5 million annually), Washington's Mike Shanahan ($7 million), Seattle's Pete Carroll ($7 million) and Tennessee's Jeff Fisher ($5.75 million) are the league's top-paid head coaches, according to Forbes Magazine, I wonder if he'll get near that?
