falcons want snelling back
Free agent RB Jason Snelling has an offer on the table from the Falcons. It appears the Falcons have given Snelling an open invitation to return as he scours the market. He's drawn interest from the Rams, Giants and Chiefs this summer, but all three teams ended up going in another direction. The Falcons may be Snelling's only viable landing spot at this point. RE: falcons want snelling back
Must be pretty low. We have limited cap space and no one else is bringing in Snelling for a visit. Seriously, what free agents have been signed the past 5 days? Braylon Edwards for almost nothing? Obviously the wanted players have been long since signed by now.

Yea he needs to just suck it up and sign a 1 year deal with us and try again next offseason because preseason starts next week.

We're fine on cap room, we'll cut Chauncey here in a little bit.

RE: falcons want snelling back
Good for the Falcons, this kind of shows how player friendly we are as a team. We basically let him try and go somewhere else and tell him if he doesn't find anything come back here and we will sign you. Just one of the reason FA's are signing here for cheaper then other teams. And this was all done without any drama or hard feelings on either side. Good move can't blame him for trying to see if he was going to get some major offers somewhere else. I will be happy to have him back we need a backup FB and he has shown alot of heart and ability in filling in for Turner.

I wonder what we'll charge him to play for us?

RE: falcons want snelling back
I kinda had a feeling that he wouldn't go anywhere. People don't see him as a starting back. However, he's very capable of being a playmaker when needed. He's had a few good games, but not enough to warrant a starting role just yet.

RE: falcons want snelling back
Snelling is just pouting at this point. I don't begrudge the man the opportunity to look around in free agency and shop his wares. Problem is, no other team targeted Snelling as a "must-have" and the musical chairs game has stopped and there is no chair for Snelling to sit in. Ronnie Brown has accomplished much more than Snelling in the NFL and he signed a 1yr $1million deal - Falcons should not have to pay more than that, because the market is "set" at this point.

Snelling needs to suck it up and sign a 1 year deal with Atlanta - hope for more rushing opportunities (only if Turner gets injured) and try again in 2012.

reality check Jason - you are not getting opportunity to be a starter and you are not getting starter's money in 2011 - sorry dude, now come home to Flowery Branch where we love you and want you back - you are meant to be a Falcon - at least for one more year Smile
