Sure, he slowed down towards the second half of the season, but he was playing through a groin injury at the time. People start throwing that line out when our line is smashed at the start of the play and he's getting hit behind or just at the LOS. You can't really put your foot on the gas when you're running between the tackles and all the sudden you got the defense in your face two steps after you got the ball in your hand. Naturally, you're going to slow down to either change direction or just try to get back to the LOS and live to fight another down.

Again, he wasn't doing great for most of the later part of the season, but this tippy-toe/soft talk has been going on since 09, and it's quite frankly ridiculous when he's consistently towards the top or at the top of the league in broken tackles and yards after first contact.

I agree, but like i stated If the Oline does get improved, maybe turner sheds those labels.

I will add though to why i would like Forte/Foster, they add the passing dimension. Granted Turners receiving yards were Way above his career norms, and maybe that was a result of MM being stubborn, but I'd like a more versatile RB, ya'know the Hybrid player.

Again I'll give him the year with our new OC, but if it looks like he still can't be more then a hammer I'd be fine with letting him go and pursuing a different back, or even using a current RB (snelling or Quizz) as the main rb.

RE: Will we move up?
I really can't see it, we don't have enough pieces to offer and one of the primary lessons of this past season is that we are not one player away from a super bowl. We're going to have a lot of turnover in FA and frankly we need the picks. I don't mind if TD does some wheeling and dealing the 2nd and 3rd day, but I can't see us moving back into the first.

RE: Will we move up?
If we beef up the lines then that would solve the majority of the problems we have.

We can't pass protect.
We can't open up lanes.
We cant get a few inches.
We can get QB pressure.

Moving up? Highly doubt it. Of course, I was surprised by us moving up to get Julio. I just don't see us doing it this time though, we don't have a lot to give and one player isn't going to fix our issues.

RE: Will we move up?
Roddy would only give us maybe a 2nd and a 3rd rounder and it would be stupid as hell to do that. It would defeat the purpose of getting Julio last year. They wanted 2 ace receivers for a reason.

Turner might get us a 3rd rounder or maybe a 3rd and something else. I think this is a greater possibility, but still unlikely.

Other than that, we have nothing of value that we'd be willing to get rid of IMO.

OL, CB, DE are holes for us and I think we can re-sign the guys we need, use the 5 draft picks we got, and pick up a few guys in FA and we'll fill all our holes.

The Giants just won the SB with a 9-7 season, a QB that I think is ranked somewhere between 5th and 10th, a very average running game, and a very below average secondary that only came on strong once they hit the playoffs. They won because they have the best DL in the league, a great receiving corps, an OL that gives their QB time to make plays, and a QB with the fortitude to make the plays and not play with fear.

We have a similar team in that we can afford to be average in a few spots as long as we're elite in a few others. Right now, we have the makings of an elite receiving corps, and elite ball control running game, an elite LB corps, and a QB who I believe can do everything Eli just did if he had an OL that enabled it and a defense that put him back on the field more often. We suck on OL, pass rush, and we're average in pass coverage.

Improve the OL, improve the pass rush, and improve the secondary and we've got as good or better team than what just won the SB. The trenches are our top priority, period.

RE: Will we move up?
I'm just curious if we will move into the 1st or try. I mean, not to the top of the first that's for sure. It was just a thought that ran across my head yesterday morning.

Again, that's just illogical and incredibly unlikely.

If we let Roddy go, then we're back to our receiving corps looking essentially like it did before the Julio move. Why the hell would we do that? We wouldn't, so it's a pretty foolish suggestion.

because it's the patriot way... giant way too; get the value when you can not before they're used up.
