Falcons Why I feel we can't succeed in this "new" NFL

Why I feel we can't succeed in this "new" NFL
NFL has turned Arena League. Saints, Packers, Colts (with Manning) and the Patriots. Those are the teams that can survive. Now I know not all of their defense are superb, but those teams are hardly ever out of a game. So, they will usually be in the hunt. Teams like the Steelers and Ravens to an extent have a chance because they have defenses that can help them keep up. Us? We have an offense build around a run game and a average/below average defense. I love Ryan, but he cant lead a Arena League offense and we don't have one in place anyway. We have to stay balanced and at some point when we are behind we act like we are the Pats. Love the team, but the "new" NFL is only suited for a handful of teams. We aren't one of them.

Please convince me I am wrong.

We're a bit like the Jets (they have a better defense we have a better offense) but both of us don't have what it takes to have a scary offense.

Seriously Atlanta? All I can do is laugh. It's like watching an Arena Football League team face NFL Gridiron Giants. The coaching is horrible. The defense is worse, oh, and our offensive line is horrible. But hey! At least we have a good running back about to turn 30 years old, and a bunch of wide receivers that we can't get the ball to! Schedule won't get any easier, Carolina then Detroit. Oh joy.

I'd even throw the eagles in the mix but they are obviously underachieving. Like the other teams I mentioned they are built to be an offense juggernaut, but its not working right now. But with their offense the new NFL blueprint is in place.

I'm frustrated because i think we can succeed in this "new" NFL.... I'm frustrated because we keep getting all these penalties at the wrong time..... HD 46 yard play.. Called back... We was in FG position... Penalty got us out of positin... Tony Gonzalez makes a big 3rd down catch... Called back.

If we are going to play the type of game our OC want us to... We cant make mistakes... We cant have balls tip into ints

I not not trying to shit on the team when they are down, I am being serious. I'm not even going to complain about the coaching. We are just on a different planet with our approach to winning football games. We may beat the shitty teams, but not the arena league type teams or the awesome defense teams built to slow down the arena league teams. If we cant beat Green Bay at home we might as well miss the playoffs. Because those are the teams you have to beat to win a title anyway.

I agree but you just cant have those penalties... Its just frustrating.. This game was in our hands.

The play calling in the 2nd half turn to intro level...

Penalties did hurt jbo......

but here is where I part company w/ you. Every team has some things that don't go there way in a game. The Falcons though - if they don't play perfect they can't win because they are so very conservative and ordinary in their playcalling on both sides of the ball...

Up 14-0, Bill Belicheck and Mike McCarthy would have gone for the knockout early. Not Mike Mularkey though.

There was almost no chance that the Packers were not going to score less than 30 points. To hold the Packers to 25 points and lose by 9 is a disgrace......

I realize the Packers are World Champs but they were beatable tonight and Falcons had the advantage - and frittered it away. Pack did not have their starters at O-Tackle - we did not have Abe.

We had the advantage and pissed it away.

That's the thing. We have to play damn near perfect to beat the great teams. Green Bay is down 14, no problem. Same with the Saints. Pats usually too. I keeping adding teams. I say the Chargers COULD get there too. But its a common theme. The quick strike teams, and Steelers...maybe Ravens on a good run. Those are the teams that will win titles these days. Look at last few SB winners. Green bay, Saints, Steelers, (defense) Giants (Defense). So either the juggernaut offense or dominant defense.
