RE: What a NFL scouts, coaches orfront-office personnel had to say about Thomas Dimitroff
I use to be a Mularkey supporter and apologist because we were winning even though we lacked several elite level players in certain skill positions and because 09 was a horrendous battle with injuries. I've always known his offense was vanilla, only 2-dimensional, and very predictible, but we were controlling the hell out of the clock and winning still so I cut him some slack.

I can't do it any longer. Now we have all the weapons in place and his offensive schemes are actually holding us back. When Mularkey's calling the plays, our OL struggles and we don't seem to play with confidence. But when Matty calls from the line, we flow and march down the field, the OL miraculously gives him more time, and he's not rolling out throwing the ball into the stands every other pass play. I think MM above anyone else could be on the hotseat by midseason.

And BVG isn't far behind him. We have an incredibly talented DL now, including probably the best DL depth in the league, yet we're still not getting the sacks. Couple that with the fact we're still constantly in this soft zone coverage crap and giving up shit tons of passing yardage, I think BVG may fall into the same issue. I still think BVG's defensive scheme is better suited for college. I'm tired of giving up 300+ yards passing every damn game when I know our secondary is better than that. And I really think our blitz packages are weak and predictible as hell. When you have really fast and explosive players all over your defense, yet you always look just above average, it's the DC's fault.

Mike Mularky on the other hand, still in the air. Actually, no I'm not. I've landed on the ground and decided he needs to pack his bags and hit the road.

wait what?????

did you not see the game? we made Mike freaking Kafka look like Tom Brady. we gave up big plays again, we gave up 31 points??? this was a good showing? no way, he needs to go

Chew on THAT, Petunia!

I dont think either of our coordinators are safe from blame this season.

If we cant execute outside of the no huddle as well as we do when we are running it this year, the writing will be on the wall. If we cant do better on the screens and edge plays this year, as well as the zone coverage schemes, the same can be said for BVG.

Assuming Vick stays in one piece, I can guarantee you that they are going to be scoring 30+ points many more times this season.

We can't have it all.

If people want us to be aggressive and blitz, then you put a lot of stress on your corners and safeties to man up.

If people want us to be conservative and prevent the deep play, then you have to get pressure with your front four.

If people don't want to do something vanilla, then we have to utilize zone blitz concepts, which puts defensive linemen and defensive ends(like John Abraham) in coverage.

Our back 7 has been lacking, and up until this year, we haven't seen any kind of a pass rush from our front 4 unless Abraham had a great day, with the occasional showing from Babineaux. People say what they want, but did BVG cause Weatherspoon to try to shove Forte instead of wrapping up? No, and you don't sit around and teach NFL players pee-wee football basics like how to properly tackle. Did BVG cause Dunta Robinson to slip in man to man coverage when Hester made that long run that set up that TD? No.

Even last game? Did BVG make Sanders get caught flat footed on that WR screen to Maclin in the 3rd Q? Did BVG make Brent Grimes blow that coverage on Maclin with they shifted into a Twin WR left look? Did BVG make Abraham slip, Grimes lose his ability to block shed, or Moore lose contain on the run by McCoy?

Come on folks. There's a reason BVG received an extension this off-season, and there's a reason the people have been calling the Eagles the "Dream Team."

yeah, i was on my way to work and heard him saying that over the radio, I myself couldnt stop laughing.

This might be a make or break year for both Coordinators, as Authur Bank, TD and Coach Smith finally put on the table a very decent group of players on both side of the ball.. However it is too early to decide who go and stay.

Our Defense played a much better game last week than the Chicago game. We tackled better, got pressure on Vick, and played the run very well. I think we should give them time to gel before making calls on BVG.

While on the offense, The Oline just not giving Matt Ryan enough time in the pocket, therefore we cant fully justify the way MM calling the plays, as his plays dont have enough time to develop.

All am saying is that we are two weeks into the season, we dont need to start the blame game. Not every team is currently happy with their coordinators but at least we know that we have the foundation set with Authur Blank, TD and Coach Smith in charge.

GO FALCONS!
