We have a great QB and incredible talent at our skill positions, plus an incredible run-stopping defense, but that's not enough to over-shadow the bad.

I'm not going to set my expectations too high just to end up 10-6 and possibly miss the playoffs. We're not nearly as good as we hoped.

Our secondary was ranked 20th coming into the game and allowed less than our regular average. The Packers and Pats have the worst secondaries in NFL, they are still winning. The Browns and Jags have the best secondaries, they are still losing. The secondary isn't a reason to worry in today's NFL.

The offensive line has been improving every week. They played well yesterday. Ryan stayed upright and had tons of time on certain plays. Turner had no problem with the huge holes he had. There has been a lot of turnover and injury. They are looking for stability in personnel. It looks like they may have found it.

The pass rush picked up one sack, forced an int, and knocked down 4 passes and picked up 3 QB hits.

The team had 432 yards yesterday. The offense looked great.

The defense had shut down CJ and Hasselbeck. Locker had success because the "terrible" pass rush forced him out of the pocket and it turns out he can throw rather well on the run. He was a top prospect coming out so it shouldn't be much of a surprise. Despite how well he looked at times the game was never in doubt. He finished 9/19 or 47% which means there is little chance, if he had gotten the ball again he would have scored. The D had him running for his life. But don't take his performance away from him. He looked real good. The Titans should be excited.

Props to Clabo and Hawley for haulin azz downfield blocking....
the line is definitely looking better, hopefully mike johnson comes back strong and injury free next year, and we can find a LT, although Svitek in MY opinion is playing better than Baker has for most of his time here, we might just see Baker relegated to backup

Chew on THAT, Petunia!

Yards or not, we're going to have problems if Chris Owens stays on the field. Again he comes in, and immediately gives up two TDs. He's a worse CB than Baker is at LT, and that's scary.

That was my problem with getting Hayden. He stays hurt.

I said our pass rush is "lacking", not terrible.

And if HD didn't catch that 3rd down pass with 3:20 left in the game, we would have given them the ball back ahead by only 6. To say the game was "never in doubt" is simply not true.

We should have won that game 35-10. We crap the bed 4 out of 5 times every time we're in the redzone and have to kick a FG. We are near the bottom of the league in stopping other teams on 3rd down. We should have beat Chicago, TB, and NO, but we can't stop making bad decisions and failing to execute when it's absolutely needed.

We're a very good team. We might even make the playoffs. But we can't hang with the elites and that's simply the reality of it right now. And that pisses me off that I can tell we're still not there.

It is lacking. You are right.

RE: What I Liked
To be fair, we played the Titans, who are one of the best pass blocking teams in the league easily. They've given up the second fewest sacks allowed on the year, and PFF has them rated as one of the best pass blocking units, if not the best. Both their tackles were ranking Top 5 in the league at their positions as well.

If you are lacking a right arm that means you don't have one, right?

English grammar is not your thing, eh? I'm not surprised. You are from New Orleans.

Many words in our language have multiple definitions depending on if used as an adjective, verb, or noun. In this case, "lacking" as an adjective can mean "inadequate in amount or degree".

If you are "lacking a right arm" it doesn't necessarily mean it's missing. Could certainly mean it's just weak too.

No, not from New Orleans. But, the word also means "not having existence or being or actuality", which may more closely describe the subject. But, yes, at the very least I can agree with you heartily that the Falcons' pass rush is weak.
