RE: Welcome to Playoffs Friends
Would be great. But if we go into the last game with a large lead in the conference, then I see us starting backups.

I hope our backups win, then, because I want us still to be eligible for the most wins ever in a season should we go all the way! This special team deserves such an honor for all the enjoyment they have brought me under the new regime.

RE: Welcome to Playoffs Friends
I think we should be careful....resting players is one thing if they need it. But especially if we get that Bye.....we will get extra time off as it is....the last thing we want to do is come out cold.....that has cost us....we need to get guys like Samuel rested.....but we need to get our offense clicking like they were at the start of the year....they looked really lame after the first quarter tonight....it was sad to watch....this game should have been a blow out....

I would caution us from letting our foot off the gas....sometimes you never get back up to speed

The extra week scares me.

RE: Welcome to Playoffs Friends
It doesn't scare me if we play through the end....locking up the #1 seed in week 14 or 15 could be bad if we don't keep our offense running well....I am okay with playing some backups to get others needed rest. I just pray that Smitty does not give the guys the Bye week off and guys like Roddy take it more serously and don't take off for Hawaii (of wherever he went.....) They need to stay local....get some rest, go in and do some walk thru.....

Hell if I was Smitty I would lock them down in a Barracks format for the entire run to the superbowl....they would eat sleep play together......no screw ups....no going out before the superbowl for a BJ......THIS IS OUR YEAR.....we have to click on all cylinders...

On a side note if the Mayans are right and the world ends DEC 21.....I am gonna be pissed we didn't get to see our boys and TG get his ring!

Seeding is what will matter... We could lock up the 1st seed by week 15 I believe!

RE: Welcome to Playoffs Friends
14 if SF CHI and GB drop a game or two.....

right now 14-2 gets us #1 seed for sure.....since SF can only finish 13-2-1

If SF drops a game I believe we have the tiebreaker over Bears for 13-3 (though I am hoping GB puts another loss under their belt)

Most likely scenario is SF will lose to NE, but will win out otherwise as they have a bunch of creampuffs left with the possible exception of the Seahawks. (that said they could also lose to the Rams or miami if those teams get a bit of luck) Realistically they will lose 1 and win 4....so 12-3-1

Bears have GB and SEA but their other games while not easy should be wins lets say they will end up 12-4

13-3 will likely win #1 spot....but 14-2 definitely gets it Week 16 or 17.....

15 is possible but lots must happen and I don't think we would know it until the last week....we can get the #1 seed with 12-4 provided we beat the Giants and the Bears and 49ers stumble a bit....

I don't see 11-5 winning a #1 seed (but I also don't see us dropping 4 games...)

I think we have 2 easier games (CAR/DET) and two tougher games (NYG/TB) honestly I think all are important...I don't want to lose to TB even if we have #1 seed locked up if it means that they make the playoffs....

CAR playing a bit tougher now....
DET should have beat Texans and we will have to watch out for Suh and injuries
NYG we need to beat after they embarrassed us in playoffs (we also should see this as another hurdle game)
TB (we may be the difference rather they make the last playoff spot or not.....and it may be a factor in deciding who gets the number 6 seed.....this game depends on which opponent we think has a better chance of spoiling either #3 or #4 in the first round of playoffs.....)

I think we just have to go one game at a time and play well enough to win
