Way to go Peter King
Always trying to find a negative within a positive Falcon moment:
1. Atlanta (6-0). With the win over the Raiders, Mike Smith tied Dan Reeves atop the Falcons' all-time regular season coaching victories list, with 49. Not to rain on the parade, but this is the Falcons' 47th season. You're telling me they've never had a man win 50 regular season games? I guess that's what having 16 coaches -- only four interim ones, meaning the average tenure is slightly less than four years on the Atlanta sidelines -- does to the all-time win total. |

RE: Way to go Peter King
The comment was extremely unnecessary. I usually scoff at media disrespecting us because it usually doesnt bother me, but the comment was so unnecessary and off based. Thats the kind of comment you keep to yourself, not put in an article.

RE: Way to go Peter King
I have no problem with the comment. It is a fact that the Falcons franchise has been one of the worst in the NFL. That, in large part, explains its mercurial fan base.
We finally have a stable situation in the Front Office and on the field. Mike Smith's record can be credited to the work done by Dimitroff, Smith and Blank. |

RE: Way to go Peter King
Totally lame and had nothing to do with us being 6-0.
So tired of pundits taking shots at our team, we have not been a laughing stock type team in quite a long time. |

After watching them since the 69-70 season, I question whether the Rankin and co really even wanted to win. Letting Deion get away was just one example... on a side note to that, last night watching the NFL network, when it came time to get to the Falcons game, Deion said "now let's go to MY HOUSE", then they covered the Falcons game. I know the dome was known as 'the house that Deion built" but deion, this is matt ryans house n ow, GTFOOF! oh, and they didn't stay on our game long though, the only undefeated team doesn't merit as much coverage as the 'revenge' game out on the west coast. Chew on THAT, Petunia!

RE: Way to go Peter King
Until we win a SB people will never accept that we're not the "same ol' Falcons" from the bad years of the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, 00's...

RE: Way to go Peter King
As a team we are in the same boat as the Pats were before they began their run. They were a bad team with a history in a decent sized market but with no respect. After they won their first super bowl the coverage was nothing but positive.

Same for the Steelers. They were completely miserable until the 70s.

The Steelers were totally irrelevant and the laughing stock for the first 40 something years they existed too. Even today you still hear about how Bradshaw wasn't all that, LOL. Man won how many Superbowls???? Chew on THAT, Petunia!
