I really enjoyed the book. I do wonder if we will be able to bring guys in with an edge in due course. I think we will. This is only year 4. Do you remember the patriots part of the story. The first thing hoodie did was get rid of all the negatives then when he was happy with the dynamic, and settled he started to bring in guys like that again who he believed could be raised to be men as well as football players. It is incredible how family like the 3 men are with their organisations.

For what it's worth pointing out. The way the Falcons grading system works , 8 is the highest grade possible.

What did you think about the essence of the draft system being you draft guys who you could see being a starter or better than a current starter in their career? It does seem like somewhere that projected talent is getting lost in translation or taking longer to develop.

People forget we are in year four. Most teams that go into a deep rebuild that includes a shift in organisational paradigm, would not be in contention for the Superbowl in 3 out of those 4 years. The last team I can think of who went through a similar overhaul and managed to get and stay competitive were the patriots we know what happened there but it was under less severe circumstances.

It's easy to get annoyed and on the backs of our young players but in a young team especially the defense where most of you are 4 years in or under you often haven't hit your best strides yet.

Now there are certain players who don't fall under that category for one reason or another, injury, inability to develop past college level, immaturity, reasons can be numerous. This hurts the team more because this isn't a back up you're talking about or a guy tailing off in his career this is a player who in their prime years isn't what the team hoped would be and thus with the team being in contention presents a bigger problem because replacing them means going after a proven vet, or drafting a player with superior talent who can play right away so as not to make situations worse.

It's not easy finding those types a guys. I wrote this because whilst I have my gripes about players in the team, I do understand how it isn't easy for the Falcons FO to make personnel decisions in a rash manner because they have been both rebuilding and competing at the same time.

Imagine how good we are gonna be when both the O and D and Specials are settled units.
