Touchdown Passes
The NFL has been around since 1920. Matt Ryan has been in the NFL for 5 years. He has 127 career touchdown passes good for 92nd place on the NFL's all-time TD pass list. Matt Ryan ranks 10th in TD passes among active QB's.

1. Peyton Manning - 436
2. Tom Brady - 334
3. Drew Brees - 324
4. Eli Manning - 211
5. Ben Roethlisberger - 191
6. Carson Palmer - 189
-. Philip Rivers - 189
8. Tony Romo - 177
9. Jay Cutler - 136
10. Matt Ryan - 127

Ryan needs just 29 TD passes to pass Steve Bartkowski for the Falcons franchise record for TD passes. He has averaged 25.4 TD passes a season for his career. 25.4 TD passes a season for 15 years equals 381 TD passes. If he had 381 TD passes right now he would rank 4th on the NFL's all-time TD pass list.

I just thought this info was interesting.

RE: Touchdown Passes
Good info. We could probably say he ends up 6th because Brees and Brady will most likely hit that 381 plateau

RE: Touchdown Passes
NFL changed so much and rules have changed You can't count that towards QBs of 80s

I'm delusional from our playoff loss against GB . Don't take me seriously until year 2413 .

RE: Touchdown Passes
You know if he had 550 TD he would be number 1.......I don't understand the 381 thing.....Keep him healthy for years to come and learn to put our foot on the gas and not let up...he could put up brady numbers if Smitty wasn't so nice......Sean Payton doesn't take his foot off the gas....

Ryan is a super QB, has the smarts and as long as we have weapons and protect him he will rank up there high when he hangs them up for good.....let'[s just get him a couple of superbowl rings so he doesn't become the Dan Marino of this era!

Yeah it will change. Brady and Brees will both end up with over 400 TD passes.

381 came from 25.4 (Ryan's average season) times 15 years (typical length of a starting QB's NFL career).

But yeah Ryan could put up much better numbers if he played for a more aggressive coach.

Ryan's TD numbers go up every year. I don't think it's about the coach not being aggressive, Smitty is pretty aggressive. The offense has gotten more aggressive each year. I think this year we could see huge points.

Tom Brady didn't throw for more than 28 TDs in a season until 2007 his 8th year he was 30 and he threw 50.

Manning didn't hit 30 TD passes until his 3rd year and didn't hit it again for another 4 years that year he threw 49.

Matt Ryan did it in his 5th year and has improved the number of TDs each season. Ryan will retire with HOF numbers but so will a lot of QBs from this era. He needs rings to get in.

The Falcons have never had a killer instinct and that comes from a lack of aggression. How many times do the Falcons have a nice comfortable lead and then end up needing Ryan to pull a miracle outta his ass to save the victory? Far too many times. But if we were to keep attacking we would keep scoring and Ryan would have much better numbers.

I don't know.
We kept attacking in both playoff games with middling results. See bad interceptions or fumbles. Had Ryan not been in the shotgun against SF and taken his eye off the snap he wouldnt have lost that ball and we would have at least got a FG and needed nothing more than that to win.

See also his poorly thrown int against Seattle.

I get where you are coming from but had we a better run game the point is moot.
Most of our close games during the season were see-saw affairs.

I wasn't just talking about 2012. I'm talking about every year since Smitty's been here.
