With cornerback Dunta Robinson re-working his contract earlier this week, the Falcons have a new top 10 in salary cap numbers for 2012.

Here are the top 10 cap numbers:

2. Brent Grimes, cornerback, $10.281 million (franchise tag).

3. Roddy White, wide receiver, $8.025 million.

4. Michael Turner, running back, $7 million.

5. Dunta Robinson, cornerback, $6 million ( He drops one spot from fourth to fifth. His previous number was $7.75 million.)

6. Tony Gonzalez, tight end, $5.9 million.

7. Justin Blalock, left guard, $5.3 million.

8. Jonathan Babineaux, defensive tackle, $4.6 million.

9. Ray Edwards, defensive end, $4.5 million.

10. Tyson Clabo, right tackle, $4.05 million.

just my opinion, but tagging grimes was pure stupidity. no freaking way he's worth what that tag will pay him. i hope to goodness he refuses to sign it, or if they are bound and determined to keep him, it gets them to the table and they work a deal that is more financially sound

Chew on THAT, Petunia!

I wouldn't mind getting 2 first round picks for Grimes, but I don't see a team going after him that bad. Would rock for us though.

The first half of the list I have no problems with, 7-10 though...

You have a problem with Clabo?

He's arguably one of the top right tackles in the NFL.

He's ranked 3rd here and he was at least top 10 on the ProFootballFocus grades.

No, not a problem with Clabo per say, more so that two members of our publicly called out O-line, are amongst the teams highest paid players. You wont hear any argument from me that Clabo isn't top notch.

Justin Blalock is overpaid for his performance last year, but LG and RT isn't what's killing us on the line. It was the garbage play of our RG and LT that hurt us the most.
