Oh, and I was not trying to sell the Texans 3rd string QB, I was just pointing out the decreased lack of importance of the position in their offense. The more I looked at the situation the less I saw of the potential impact on their offense.

It has much less of an impact as losing Ryan or Brees. Less than losing Romo or Rodgers. Less than losing Brady or Cutler or the QB of any other playoff potential team.

Another thought I had about the lockout. Remember the first few weeks of the season and all the crazy passing numbers. It seems like that has subsided now and we are seeing more of the norm for today's NFL. I guess it took a while for defenses to catch up, at first it seemed counter intuitive, offense is the harder / more complex entity, seems like they would take longer to get going but then I thought about how tilted the rules are in favor of the offense. That along with Mike Smiths description of the 4th and 13 debacle was some good insight as to the complexities that are required to field a good defense these days.

Don't know if you caught it Monday but that little behind the scenes bit they did with Brees and staff on the preparation for what ultimately was a TD pass was pretty cool. Would love to see more of that type of stuff.

And we Still haven't hit our stride. If we do 2 games before the playoffs, we will be a nasty team to want to play against. Aka GB last year.

The Niners have a very good defense and a strong run game. They can knock off Green Bay. I wish we would, a little karma there would be nice but what ever works.

Same here, would be sweet to beat them on their own field (where I think we actually match up better than in our Dome), however I will gladly take the easiest route possible (oh how the "experts" would whine)
