Yep. I trust TD's talent evaluation.

RE: Thomas DeCoud
I could see him in the Pro Bowl. It seems likely either DeCoud or WillyMo will be voted in.

What you call decent I call outstanding I think I saw him biting a guy's arm. Is an arm-biting bonus a form of bounty? I think not in this state.

RE: Thomas DeCoud
Check out the contract details...

3/6/2012: Signed a five-year, $17.5 million contract. The deal contains $4 million guaranteed, including a $3 million signing bonus and $1 million of DeCoud's first-year base salary. Another $3.5 million is available through escalators in the contract's final two seasons based on playing time, interceptions, and Pro Bowl berths. 2012: $1.4 million, 2013: $1.9 million, 2014: $4.2 million, 2015: $3.4 million, 2016: $3.6 million, 2017: Free Agent

He is pretty damn cheap in his first two years. I think they wanted to see if he was a fit in Nolan's scheme and basically to see if he can earn those final few years or we could just cut him in 2014 if he didn't perform. Good contract McKay and TD.

[Image: 2menybt.jpg] Invest in the trenches with high draft picks and we will see both sides of the ball vastly improve.

No, I did not. Yes, he drew the same kind of silly talk that Turner/Edwards/Dunta still get. Some people are better at criticizing the easy things than thinking in the long-term.

Nolan's defense makes great use of both S positions and really emphasizes what is great about our S tandem; Decoud has pretty good range, speed, and ball skills while WillyMo is pretty good with coverage, tackling, and is very aggressive. We have been crowding the secondary in big nickel and/or forcing QBs to get rid of the ball sooner than they want; our Safeties are eating these dudes up.

got to give both of them credit also for maturing a good bit under Nolan. I remember the last few seasons, early in the year DeCoud had some balls hit him in the hands that he dropped. this year, he's catching them and even making good plays to go get them.

We're finally getting to see some of the "promise" come out of several of our players that we've been expecting for a few seasons

Yeah, they are much more confident under Nolan. It seems like BVG treated them like kids and it affected communication and confidence more heavily than we ever knew.
