Thumbs Up The hiring of Mike Nolan has brought us together more than ever.
After yet another playoff melt down and the hiring of an unpopular offensive coordinator, it was hard to get on the board without feeling pessimistic and downright sad. The hiring of Mike Nolan is hard to compare to any other move we've made recently because it's mostly all positive from the fan base. When we signed Julio, as exciting as it was, there was plenty of outrage to go around due to the picks we gave up. When we drafted Matty Ice, the many who wanted Dorsey sparked a huge disagreement on that draft. Looking at it now, it's very hard to find something that is almost unanimously accepted. Looking through the Mike Nolan threads, it's good to see how optimistic and excited we have become. Superstars like Spoon and Lofton are going to move up in the "elite" range I believe, and overall, it's awesome that we have one of the brighest defensive minds in football to help get them there.

This was my rant of the week, and an unusually positive one. Just wanted to show my appreciation for this board and as fans of this football team we've all grown to love. It's not every day that we can come together like this and cheer about something so positive, so I decided to stop and think how good it can be...no matter how rare these moments seem to be.

Coach Nolan stressed secondary play a ton, so I'm excited to see the emergence of Moore and hopefully the improvement on Thomas DeCoud. Nolan worked with Ed Reed in Baltimore when he was the defensive player of the year, and Yeremiah Bell is an underrated safety in the league who has cited Nolan as being a huge influence on his play, so I'm expecting great things for every part of this defense.

Spoon mimics a spoon in his hand after he tackles somebody because of his last name. Ray Lewis mimics a knife because that's how he killed his wife.

(My offensive joke of the day, although I doubt Ray Lewis has ever imitated stabbing somebody after a hard hit. He did get away with murder though.)

And he's celebrated all over the place too.

moore's a football nerd too from my understanding him and spoon should really make benchmark improvements.

DeCoud can't be helped.

[Image: 2menybt.jpg] Invest in the trenches with high draft picks and we will see both sides of the ball vastly improve.
