It had to do with penalties and not the offensive execution. Ryan was moving the hell out of the ball all by his damn self. Quizz is still underused. Turner falls down after 1 cut, and the bullshit penalties have been consistently killing drives all year.

The pieces are there the fucking bullshit of shooting yourself in the foot is the biggest killer of this teams success. And we still should win 10 football games this year, that says something. Not happy about the stupid mistakes I just hope by some miracle we cut the shit come playoff time.

We still had the ball in the redzone 3-4 times and we still had opportunities to score TD's even with the penalties, unfortunately we turned the ball over on downs and settled for FG's.

Roddy offensive PI put 3rd and goal at 15, and that 4th and 1 call was all on Mularkey inside the red zone, so there are two right there. We weren't putting ourselves in good positions to succeed.

Ryan marches us down the damn field and then Mularkey turns into this conservative twit, it's infuriating and if it isn't that it's a stupid fucking penalty. You can't expect to consistently score TD's like that.

If you can explain to me how Grimes ends up covering Jimmie Graham one-on-one and Bierman ends up on Colston on 3rd down one-on-one, I'd love to hear it.

I understand what a zone blitz is and how it works. I really do. But at some point you have to get to the QB or quit using that play. And that's not a front-4 problem -- it's a blitz. They aren't putting us in the best position to win.

It's almost as if they're intentionally putting our players in bad positions. And since it looks like the players are quitting on the season, it looks like all of them know it, too.

Sorry, Peyton -- if we we're talking about the offense, I agree with you as to last night. Mularkey cannot be blamed for our players committing penalties, missing assignments and dropping balls. I get that. And I agree that Smitty can't make his players perform. But Van Gorder absolutely shoulders a fair share of blame for last night. The defensive scheme was a joke, and even Gruden was talking about it. That -- the decision to keep our coordinators and accept their horrible scheming and game planning -- is directly on him.

We don't have the talent to do much. We lack a significant pass rush. I know that Abraham and Edwards get a lot of flack for not bringing the the QB down, but I think that we need to look at our interior DL's. From what I saw last night (and most of this season), we do not pressure QB's from the middle. Our DT's simply do not scare anyone. I know that Peters has been a solid addition, but he is not dominant. Babineaux is nearing his expiration date and we don't have much more at that position. In a loss like this, it is best to recognize your deficiencies and make moves to correct them. This off season, I would like to add a quality DT that can be paired with Peters to create a significant pass rush. We simply can not continue to fail on 3rd and 12 situations.

Abraham is getting chipped and double-teamed because our interior DL's are easily handled. In other words, blame our DT's, not our LDE.

Yep, the difference between the games we win and lose usually revolve around our 3rd down efficiency on D.

His only other DC job before this one was at UGA. Why Smitty thought it was a good idea hiring BVG is beyond my understanding.

3 years of this not being able to get off the field on 3rd down shit is enough.

Yep, the problem is with our interior rush. I noticed the Saints concentrated on doubling both DTs with a combination of doubling and chipping Abe. Edwards was no threat and was easily blocked by his man.

Babs is good, Peters is sporadic. Outside of those two, we really need some hosses on the inside.

Babs used to be nearly great. Now, he is good and next season, he will likely be OK. That is the stark, dark truth about age and the NFL. Babs was a linebacker that bulked up and became a quick Under Tackle. My guess is that his best days are behind him.

We desperately need a DT that can penetrate and create pressure in the face of QB's. Jerry was TD's attempt to address the issue, but injuries have taken their toll. We need to draft the best defender on the board with our second round pick. I am hoping that he turns out to be a DT.
