3rd time in team history of starting 4-0. But we've never made it to 5-0.

I remember 86 well. The Falcons handily beat the Saints and Cardinals in the first two weeks (I think), then went to Dallas and scored an epic win over the 2-0 Cowboys, in one of the most exciting games I've ever seen. The next week they went to Tampa and beat the Bucs in overtime. I think Steve Young was the QB for that game.

David Archer became the first Falcons QB to win to win NFC Offensive player of the month.

Then Buddy Ryan brought his Eagles to town and crushed Archer like a little bug, shutting out the Falcons in the process, and Archer never had another good game for the rest of his career.

Peyton, was that Cowboys game the one were the Falcons and the Cowboys shared the same sideline due to the horrible shadows/heat in Cowboys stadium? I may have my years mixed up, but I seem to remember that being the game. Strange sight seeing both teams on one side of the field..

Just looking up the schedule. The Falcons the next week after the Eagles game beat the Rams 26-14 at AFCS and tied the 49ers at 10-10 the following week at AFCS. They got to 5-1-1 and then the season went down hill.

The only 2 wins the Falcons got the rest of the season were road wins at Miami and then the final game of the season at Detroit.

I remember a few years back when the 86 team was included in Maddens for some reason. They were lousy there too. The defense was top 10 though.

I don't remember that.
