CJ can't beat you alone. He got 5-113 on the 49ers last week but 41 came on one pass. The real key is no TDs. Let him catch all he wants. Then don't let him score. The problem with our D is if they focus on one problem that can't stop something else. If we shut down CJ which they are capable of doing, then whatever scrub they march out there to run will have a career day. We need our front 7 to pressure and stop the run.

Lucky for us, Best and Harrison look to be out, so it's pretty much Maurice Morris, and that's about it, unless they bring in some scrub. Not saying we shouldn't worry about stuffing the run, but at least we can focus more attention on the pass.

I feel really great about this game this week. I think that the loss last week to the Niners was probably pretty deflating for the Lions, a reminder that they aren't quite as good as they thought they were kind of thing.

I expect the Lions to be flat this week. The Falcons have kind of dropped off the radar as far as being considered in the top tier of the NFC for the time being, and I don't expect them to inspire the Lions best effort.

Meanwhile, the Falcons are quietly shoring up thier biggest problem, with the offensive line playing a lot better the last two weeks.

Add in Detroit's problems at RB, and I feel real good about this one.

There are reports now that Best is being advise that he should stop playing this year. Lions are still officially listing him as day-to-day.

It's his second concussion in 2 months. The league needs to step in to protect this kid. If doctors are advising him to sit out, that needs to be the plan.

Harrison has officially been placed on the reserve list.

Best missed his third practice in a row. I don't know if it's official yet, but all signs are pointing towards Morris getting the start. The Lions did sign free agent Eldra Buckey, but I'd be surprised if he gets any touches at RB.

While I'd prefer to have Best starting than not, this isn't as huge a deal for the Lions has it might be for a lot of teams. The running game has largely been ineffective for much of the year. Morris is a decent RB. He clearly does not have Best's speed, but he's adequate. When you consider that Detroit's running game is not, and has not, been a significant part of their past success, then losing the starting RB isn't as painful as, say, the Vikings losing Peterson.

Harbaugh smacked Schwartz hand and "patted" him on the back... Schwartz was a little surprised and probably a big miffed... he is a very emotional guy during the games especially. He immediately went to Harbaugh and asked why he did that. At that point Harbaugh responded with an expletive of some sort. Obviously Harbaugh was "dancing" quite a bit after the win, which would understandably set any opposing coach off a bit... but Schwartz does that himself so he shouldn't get to upset about that. But the smack and "push" (if you want to call it that) probably made Schwartz think: "What the h---?". Then when he tries to find out what Harbaugh was doing and why, get gets an "FU" throw in his face.

Added it all up... you're an emotional guy who just suffered a painful loss. You go to do your duty and shake the coaches hand... but he's dancing like a drunk frat boy as he approaches you... smacks you hand, "pats you roughly" on the back, and then throws an 'FU' at you when you ask why he did that. I think a lot of us would be more than a little miffed by that.

nope, you're wrong, i wasn't joking at all. my opinion from what i saw of that replay over and over and over, was:
Harbaugh, shook his had too hard, actually kinda slapped hands with him, and slapped him on the back. NOT the way the winning coach should greet the losing coach at midfield, and definitely what caused the whole thing to begin with. Then I saw schwartz, looking all WTF???? at him, and turn and chase him down, at that point, to me, in my opinon, looking as if he was going to try to kick some harbaugh ass until players and coaches started getting in between them. That was the first time i saw Harbaugh say anything to him. So, did Harbaugh handle the handshake wrong? absolutely. did schwartz act like a crybaby and try to run him down??? absolutely.

but hey, you're a lions fan, i expect you to see harbaugh completely wrong, and your coach completely right.
