Davis can have a bad outing on Thursday and will still make the roster. McCown has to do well enough to keep a roster spot versus the other cuts from other teams that are coming next Monday. Practice Squad is not an option for either one.

Wow ......umm just wow... Great move, but totally unexpected. I fully thought we would let Redman play(clipboard) out the rest of his contract then disappear into the night.

Luke knows the offense we are running, probably won't see the field at all, but will help in the meting rooms.

And yeah it looks like double D is the #2

Saw the headline and I was just floored.

This is a good release/pickup due to McCown knowing the offense. He won't be used ever, but will still help with developing DD.

but if we're REALLY running a 'tweaked' MM offense, how does that matter? I don't dislike the signing though

Chew on THAT, Petunia!

It's more of Dirk's playbook but with terminology from MM.

I am absolutely stunned that both Redman and JPW got sent packing.

And now for some news some of you will not like.

Luke McCown listed as #2 on depth chart

Wow. I like it, I even said its what I would do but I thought they would keep Redman. But he and JPW have been playing so bad they would almost (I say almost) make you long for Joey Harington (at least he might have a scooter accident).

You know, Redman wanted to retire, I heard, and we asked him to come back. It's likely that this was a mutual decision, and nothing to feel bad for Redman about.
I think Redman was instrumental in helping Ryan adjust to the league and making him comfortable, so I appreciate all his service and wish him well!

That said, anyone think we are pumping McCown for info on the Aints right now? You bet we are!
