Falcons Still One Worry for Me

Still One Worry for Me
Last week I had mentioned the run game as a concern in my eyes. Well, that's out the window. Despite us not really having huge run game support today, I don't think we really need that now. We saw that if given the opportunity, Rodgers can make plays on the ground for us when we need it.

I'll put a pass on the run game based on the fact that it's clear we have no intentions to try and run the ball this year.

I will say though, that our offense needs to come out and continue to try and score in the second half. We went into half-time with a 20-0 lead I believe. We ended the game 27-3. Why are we scoring 20 in the first, then only putting up 7? I can't attribute that to the defense making that many adjustments. Is our offense NOT adjusting like they should? Are our coaches backing our guys off?

again we slowed with the lead....a dangerous precedent to set against more dynamic teams almost cost us against manning.......we nee to keep the food on the pedal until there is a reason to let up.......being nice and not blowing people out is not the way to win in the playoffs.....

Game 1. Offense scored points in the 2nd half. Against the Broncos I think it was just a case of getting conservative.

Today the Falcons were on there way to scoring more points but Ryan threw an interception right at the goaline. Falcons only had 3 or 4 possessions in the 2nd half because they were long time consuming drives.

In the 2nd half Ryan needs to go to Douglas more to open up the pass game!!! That is not on coaching but Ryan spreading the ball around more....

Gonzalez = 12 targets
Jones = 7 targets
White = 8 targets
Rodgers = 5 targets
Douglas = 2 targets
Snelling = 1 target
Turner = 2 targets
Palmer = 1 target
Gallarda = 1 target

That's a pretty good job of spreading it around.

Hard thing to complain about. Its good sportsmanship. We don't need to run up the score. This isn't college. Besides we need to eat the clock and kill out the game without injuries. You throw and throw after jumping out in front you risk turnovers...see Ryan's pick. It's all good.

Ryan's interception wasn't a risk of throwing too much. I don't know what happened on that play. Don't know if Gonzalez didn't get enough depth on his route or if Ryan just flat out made a horrible read or what but it wasn't a result of throwing too much.

Just because we bleed the clock in the 2nd half, with a huge lead, on a short week, on the west cost, with temperatures in the 100's, to an out of conference team in week 3, does not mean that is what we would do in the playoffs. It's foolish to think it is.

I thought it was crazy when they showed the temp. 100 degrees? In San Diego?

That temp played perfectly into our hands today.
