RE: Steven Jackson is a Falcon
Yep, we're currently $7.3M under the cap still.
And Brian Finneran said this morning that Matt's new contract could free up as much as $7M more for this year, he believes. We still got some needed FA's to deal with too, along with our rookies from the draft. |

RE: Steven Jackson is a Falcon
My favorite player now plays for my favorite team. He is Quizz and Turner in one player. Cannot wait to watch this guy ball for hundred yard games next season.

RE: Steven Jackson is a Falcon
Yeah McKay is our money guy. Smart dude at this shiz.
But remember, still no Grimes yet and there's a handful of others still unsigned that I would consider assets at depth. Plus still weak as hell in the pass rush department. |

RE: Steven Jackson is a Falcon
I was happy to hear we didn't overpay him for his services....wish we could get Dumervil to sign something like that.....lol
a SUPERIOR attitude and person in general, he brings talent and a new wrinkle (Defenses cannot assume he won't get a screen pass....) IMHO a much better pass blocker than Turner ever was.... Just have to pray that this stupid RB leading with his head thing goes away.....because S. Jax loves to turn upfield and lower his shoulders to get that extra yard.....REALLY BAD RULE CHANGE if it happens! |

If you think about it isn't fair for a defender to not be allowed to lead with his head but a runner is? Jackson has power in spades and speed too. I wonder how they will limit his carries to keep him fresh. |

To free up 7 million he would have to count against the cap this season 3 million. It's impossible with any signing bonus or guranteed salary for Ryan to make 3 million. Joe Flacco got a 29 million signing bonus if you divide that by 5 years it comes out to 5.8 mil just pro rated bonus Most we can save off Ryan ext this season is 3-4 million http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/baltimore-ravens/joe-flacco/ ![]() I'm delusional from our playoff loss against GB . McKay has been working on stadium deal . Not sure TD knows what he is doing at all. it was also TD who structured the Abraham contract so 2nd year we faced with high cap hit and forced to cut our only pass rusher Falcons have no depth and figure in rookie pool we are just bout done in free agency. Falcons sit at 7.2 under cap with 3-4 in pool for rookies and 11 picks ![]() I'm delusional from our playoff loss against GB . But I don't think it'll be that drastic. I think he could free up closer to $5M, maybe $6M. |
