If you watched any Rams games you could see how few holes they opened up for Jackson or protected Bradford. While our O line wasn't great it was about average on run schemes. What killed us was Turner having zero burst to the hole or any lateral ability to stretch to the outside. That and the instability at C and RG. Hopefully Konz at C and whoever at RG will give us a better push in the middle next year. SJax is going to flat out run over folks though. |

RE: Steven Jackson is a Falcon
One thing no one seems to be talking about:
Turner in Atlanta 5 years 60 rushing TDs Jackson's entire career in St. Louis 56 TDs He is going to get the opportunity to score a lot of touchdowns. I predict he will lead the league in TD runs. |

The Falcons offense has been great every year. But the Falcons still haven't won the Super Bowl because TD has yet to put a Super Bowl winning defense on the field and I for one am sick of it.Not true at all. Its been 50/50. The offense has been better because it had more stability. We picked up a good addition for RB in FA and got a good QB on the first try with Matt Ryan Our defensive pickups on the other hand havent worked out as well. Here are some of the defensive pickup. Some worked out and sone havent: Weatherspoon Asante Moore Dunta Edwards Peters Jerry Walker Lofton Here is some of the offense: Ryan Julio Quizz S Jax Tony G Baker Turner Matter of fact now that Im thinking about it TD has probably focused more on defense than offense. |

Of course of the players listed, all but one was done while BVG was here, that may have also had something to do with it. The Man In Black

Consider that problem fixed. yeah, and giving up 3 score leads in both playoff games didn't have anything to do with it huh....... Like I said, I'd not impressed with this move. The one thing I said in my first post that I stick to, is we damn sure better fix the defense. Ok, if signing SJ means we can and do focus the first 4 rounds on D, then great. But we almost lost the seachickens game, and DID lose the niners game because we couldn't stop the passes to the TE. It really is that plain and simple. 5th in scoring didn't mean squat once we showed we couldn't stop the TE from catching the ball and running all over us. THAT'S what ultimately cost us. Not failing to score from 10 yards out. They'd have gotten the ball back, and we couldn't stop em, they would have pulled out the miracle comeback win. Chew on THAT, Petunia!

How did we lose vs SF? Their TE had a a good game but their run game gashed all over us. Yes we had trouble stopping them but we failed to score when we had to. The fumble took away at least a field goal attempt. Why are we deep in their territory with a lead and running a shotgun? Had Turner not been hurt, remember he left hurt, we could have ground out the clock and the yards. What if we had Jackson pounding over them? Our offense eats the clock we get the yards we score. All we needed was one more touchdown. Look at the playoffs all over again no team had a stout defense. It was nothing but offenses and close games. Penalties were not called and scoring was rampant. It wasn't normal think back on the regular season. The playoffs were an anomaly not the norm. We didn't make the super bowl because the defense wasn't good enough. Neither was theirs. |

We were playing QB spy.
It worked. Their TE's killed us but we didn't give yards to the QB's. Pick your poison.
