Don't make me go get Guido lol, yeah, I said it. The "huh?" was because I read it as combined (3.6 + 3.9= 7.5) rather than combined averaged out (3.75) I don't think I'm wrong about SJ, I still maintain that signing a 30 year old RB and pretending like he hasn't been run into the ground and won't soon hit a wall is incredibly retarded and irresponsible. Especially for the money I think he will be requesting. I don't really get starry eyed for the big names and was never really that high on SJ in the firstplace, so that comes into play as well. |

SJ is still 29 and will be 30 and 2 months when the season starts. Again, we really only need a half decent year out of him for 1, maybe 2 seasons. Not even feature back carries. Quizz may be ready to be the 200 rep guy this year and SJ only get 100'ish. If you look at this article and table, you'll see that there's way more green and yellow for RB's at age 30 than there is red. And there's still good production at 31 for the majority as well. RB age theory. |

I'd still take Gio if he's there when we pick. That said, people are selling me on the SJ idea enough to where I won't mind if it happens, but I'm still not 100% convinced.
However, I trust TD 100%, so if he want to make the move, I know it will be the right one for us, as he knows everything we don't about what would work best with our other trade/FA/draft plans. Formerly SBC Falcon

Holding onto any RB beyond the age of 30 is a significant risk. I have no idea whether Jackson should be signed or not. The only fact that I will point out is that SJ's and MT's YPC are very much affected by the OL that blocks for them.
The first question I would ask is this: Which RB runs behind the better run blocking OL? |

RE: Stephen Jackson is a FA- Bring em home TD?
I just reviewed a 2013 highlight video for Jackson (AF.com, birdsincebirth)
The Rams were featured against the Jets, Dolphins, Redskins, Packers, and Niners. I have two observations: 1. Jackson is a superior receiver. There is no way Turner makes those plays. 2. The Rams' OL is far superior run blocking unit than ours. Jackson rarely confronted a defender until he crossed the LOS. Rushing lanes were clear and distinct. I will note that he reversed field successfully, when the right side of the line was stymied. What I saw was a more explosive (over-used term) runner that is also a thret in the receiving game. I can not vouch for his production behind our mediocre run blocking line. |

Check this from PFF: 2012 OL Rankings (run blocking, pass blocking, screen protection) Rams were rated 26th while the Falcons were rated 15th. The difference was that SJ is just that much faster than Turner getting to holes. The Falcons open holes, but they close before Turner gets to them. The Rams open holes, but SJ gets through them before they close. SJ was also top 10 in the league in yards after contact while oddly enough Turner was not. |

RE: Stephen Jackson is a FA- Bring em home TD?
You know what else picking up SJ would do for us other than allowing us to concentrate our first 3 picks on defense (and maybe TE), but we could take a gamble on Marcus Lattimore in the 4th or 5th rounds as well.
I know that kid has had 2 reconstructed knees, but he is a freak of nature. Dr. Andrews said he's 2x ahead of schedule with his rehab and will likely be able to play at full speed when this season starts. That's the kind of work ethic this kid has. Zero off the field issues, keeps his mouth shut, and is a foot ball player x10. If we lose on him, oh well. But there's a very good chance he could be that once in a decade RB too. If not for these 2 horrible tackles, this kid would be a Heisman winner and a top 5 pick. |

I say NO to Lattimore. I know about all the "miracles" but Lattimore is a huge risk with uncertain rewards. We can do better than that. I went back and reviewed the SJ highlights that I mentioned earlier. To my eyes, our OL have never opened rushing lanes like that. |
