Stephen Jackson is a FA- Bring em home TD?
He has voided his contract with St. Louis and is now a free agent. Rumors on rotoworld are linking him to us. What say ye? Bring him home, pick up a different FA RB, and/or draft a back in the first 3 rounds? I say sign him and draft a back in the 2nd/3rd. Keep 5 backs with S-Jax, Quizz, rookie, Snelling, and Ewing.

I want no part of Jackson. Too old, too injured and too many miles.

He only missed 2 games in the last 4 years.

I agree with the mileage but he takes care of his body very well.

Are you just talking out your ass or what?

How is 29 too old? How is missing 2 games the last 4 seasons too injured? And how is 257 carries for 1042 yards and a 4.1 ypc average show he's got too many miles?

1362 all purpose yards with no fumbles and played all 16 games. He's in great shape and far from being on the decline. He's Turner 3 years ago except he fits our offense perfectly.

Turner = predicable.
Jackson = unpredictable.

If Tony comes back, we need to win the SB. We can't take 2 years to develop another RB and wait for him to get up to speed. We can do that after next season. This season we have a chance to maximize our offensive potential with one move. Which would allow us to concentrate the draft on defense.

He will be 30 when the season starts, he has only played 3 full seasons during his 9 season career. He is a year younger than Turner but has over 700 more carries over his career. He isn't Turner 3 years ago, he is Turner last year. We already kept one RB a year too long and people want us to sign another one that is due to hit the wall even harder.

also, what RB takes 2 years to develop? if there is any position in the NFL that allows rookies to hit the ground running and make an instant impact it is the RB.

Yeah Mark Ingram is doing wonders since he's been in the NFL. Lets go get a sure thing like him in the draft. Or wait, maybe not.

Dude, if you can miss on a freaking Heisman winner, you can miss on anyone.

SJ runs a 4.4 40 and hits the hole and cuts 2-3 times while running over folks. I don't see where he's hit a wall.

Or they fail miserably. There isn't a sure thing RB in this draft and we lack the blocking scheme a la Washington to develop 5th round rookies. We just need a reliable grinder to finish off teams and the clock when we have the lead. Jackson can do that for a year or two.

don't get me started on taking a RB in the first, it's almost as retarded as picking up a 30 year old RB in free agency. almost, but not quite. S.J. hasn't run a 4.4 40 in years.

Did you watch the video? The guy is in the hole 100x faster than Turner has ever hit it. He's quick as fuck. You're smokin crack.
