Some things I analyzed at my first Atlanta Falcons game today.
Before I start, I must say that today was one of the best days of my life. Being in the dome for the first time is an amazing thing. And since I know none of you probably care, I'll get to some of my points.
-I was kind of disappointed at the noise level. Living near KC my whole life, I'm used to going to a football game at Arrowhead and not being able to hear my voice. There were times where I felt I was in Church. Not a huge deal I guess and something I'm not trying to sound negative about, just a thought I had the entire game. -The Carolina Panthers are not the same team we are used to. Even though they are 1-5, I think a double-digit victory against them is much more positive than you first might think. We didn't have one of our top impact players in Julio, and we still managed to move the ball. -Sam Baker was better than I expected. He had a crucial holding call against him and at times didn't hold his own very well, but he didn't have Winston Justice syndrome the entire game which was a minor plus. The few times I watched him on run plays, he did a good job blocking his man. Maybe the only time I focused he did well, but from my perspective he was better than usual. (not saying much) -Don't worry about Ray Edwards. Many people (mostly over at the Negative Nancy board) have been calling for Ray's head because of his sack numbers. What many don't know is that last year, he only had 1.5 sacks in the first seven games. He is known to step up later on in the season, shown by his 3.5 sack performance in the playoffs against Aaron Rodgers. Today he looked good, applying pressure and then finally pulling off a sack on Cam. I think it's the first of many for Ray. -Work on your popcorn flavoring skills! The most important analysis of the day from me, 4.50 for a bucket of popcorn better taste like Orville Reddenbach(sp) on crack. If I wanted to gnaw on lukewarm kernels with the same flavoring of low fat trisket crackers, I would have bought a box of Healthy Choice popcorn. I've been to all but a couple of home games in the last 15 years and the crowd was the worst I've seen it since the beginning of 2008. As for the popcorn, welcome to stadium prices. At least they finally made the sodas and popcorn refillable.

It was still a blast though, don't get me wrong. Loved seeing cam Sprint out after his 3rd pick. I was at the SF and GB games last year. I have to say, it was packed. And when we did our 4th qtr drive comebacks, it was LOUD.
The dome looked half full. It's understandable to see it that way because of the way we've been playing. If we can pull off a win in Detroit this week, it will sell tickets at home. It's time we turn this ship around boys.
