Falcons: So what went wrong? Look back to move forward.

It was hard but I had to look back at highlights and analysis of the last 2 playoff losses. I was trying to find out where things started to go wrong. I have never been one too put much credence into momentum as it relates to sports but the defensive touchdowns one at the end of the half against GB and at the beginning of the second half in Arizona were haymakers that almost seemed to leave us in a daze.

Tackling and stopping third down conversions was a problem in both. Finishing sacks against Greenbay and limiting Arizona recievers,backs, and tightends (3rd and 16). Watch the last two Giant games and see what happens if you do not tackle Cruz. Watch the Superbowl against the patriots and see what happens if you do not finish a sack on Eli.

Penalties sloppyness and turnovers in the redzone. We have to produce points and hold them to fieldgoals.

In both games it seemed that our chances were better when Turner was going strong. The problem is that peneteration issues started to stop his effectiveness and we then almost abandoned the run totally and embraced the shootout. We lost shootouts against one MVP and one guy who will probably be this years MVP. Eli is no slouch either in any other season besides this one he could be an MVP. Winning a shootout against him will not be easy.

Yeah there's no doubt, that was the turning point in each game. Still we managed to claw back and have a shot against the Cards, just blew it.

if only the refs actually called the damn offsides in cards game. we win that np

Abe was not really a huge factor in either game. He had one sack against green bay but like the rest of the team he had trouble tackling. Ray edwards had 4 sacks the last time he was in the postseason including 3 in a win against the cowboys. I hope he can channel that Ray Edwards this week.

The interior of the O-line seemed to have the most trouble in both games. There was the botched snap against Greenbay. The Cardinals had to be moving on some cue in Matts cadence and were attacking the interior so fast up front it looked like they were blitzing even if they were just bringing four. The Rolle play happened so fast he almost beat Mike to the hand off.
