We haven't ran all preseason. Our passing game works but I wouldnt trust us to have to run.

And they were the second lowest scoring team in the entire NFL. All of those scores were done prior to Crennel taking over except for the Jets loss and in that loss Matt Cassel was not the QB, Tyler Palko was. When Crennel took over the defense averaged 14 points per game without Eric Berry. This also includes holding Pittsbirgh to 13 points and GB to 14 points. The defense knows how to play. But to each their own...hopefully more games like this will change your mind. |

Last year, if the passing game was working well MM would have continued to try and run and we all would have been pissed. Some people can't be satisfied I guess. I think this is the case, at least I hope so. The second half was just a few quick scores from us, due to our defense making multiple big plays in a short amount of time, then us milking the clock. It has nothing to do with being satisfied. I am very pleased with how our new team looks. I just have some unanswered questions about Koetter's plan for our running game. |

I'm certainly not comparing us to GB offense just yet, but if we could be that, then I will certainly take it. |

RE: So Peyton . . . still don't like the Koetter hire?
It was a tale of two halves.
In the first our offense looked amazing moving the ball up and down the field with ease. Our D looked terrible while the Chiefs did the same. In the second the defense took over and forced turnovers and got massive pressure on Cassell who looked lost and beaten about midway through the 3rd. Despite the score the game was over. The offense capitalized on great field position in the game and we were able to score quickly. It was amazing how quickly our run D adjusted after the big run by Charles. In the second half when the score was close and they should have been shoving Charles and Hillis down our throats the run D stiffened and put the game away. I was more worried about our run D than O now its shifted. I don't think this falls squarely on Turner. The line was not opening holes for anyone and when they did both Turner and Quizz got some good gains. It can be fixed and will be. By the time the game was sure in hand the Chiefs focused on the run, which they should have and shut it down. We controlled this game from the fumble on. That is what matters. I guarantee we will win a game or two on the ground this year but remember neither of the super bowl teams last year had good running games. The Giants I believe were 32nd. It just isn't that important nowadays. CJ Spiller had 14 carries for 169 yards and 2tds today. The Bills also gave up 48 points. We found a way to win and dominate today. Not to shabby. If you don't think this team is better and playing at another level this year than I don't know. Right now the NFC is wide open. Both NO and GB lost big at home. Despite the scores those games were not that close. Carolina another darling to some in the press, looked awful too as the Giants. Anything can happen but this feels good. |

I don't need to have my mind changed. I know that the Falcons offense is ABSOLUTELY LOADED......beyond all question. I didn't like the Koetter hire.....but the truth is the players have to play. Either way, the Falcons often kicked ass in the regular season. The Koetter hire can't be meaningfully evaluated until we get to the post season. |

Well I can, sorta, understand not wanting to get too happy, but fuck that. I enjoyed seeing the Falcons lay the wood to a pretty good team and do it on the road for a change. I'm gonna soak up this week and get ready to do it again to the Broncos next Monday.

Yeah, while I have all kinds of shit going on in my life to make getting bent out of shape over sports seem downright silly, at the same time as a falcons fan (and especially as an auburn fan 2 games into this season), today felt good and would almost go so far as to say that I needed our win today. |
