Falcons So Peyton . . . still don't like the Koetter hire?

The Falcons took 40-0 or bigger leads by the the 3rd quarter in 2 of the last 3 regular season games last year. We didn't see something historic out there.

That being said, I thought the bubble screens were tight, even if the Falcons got away with offensive PI on them.

When have the Falcons ever scored 40 points in one of the toughest stadiums to play in?

I don't think the Falcons are going to be able to do what they did today effectively against a good defense without running the ball a little better. So I hope we see that improve.

I'm still not sure who is more to blame, the line or Turner.

Kansas City lost thier home opener last year to the Buffalo Bills 41-7. KC might have been "one of the toughest stadiums to play in" once upon a time, but that time is gone.

We didn't give up on the run. The passing game was working so well that there was no need to stop it. Last year, if the passing game was working well MM would have continued to try and run and we all would have been pissed. Some people can't be satisfied I guess.

Also in the first half we threw the ball 22 times and the second half 9 times.

Isn't that the game where all of their players got injured, including Eric Berry?

Kind of like the injury report they had this year too...great game from the Falcons and I like the adjustments at halftime but this team was far from a litmus test.

I don't know. I just read a story on the game and it didn't mention any injuries, and I think it was mostly just a bad team getting their ass kicked by an average team, but could've been some injuries.

I wouldn't compare the two at all. They lost Charles, Berry and Moeaki was gone previously. Berry and Charles were lost mid game which means gameplan shot.

This game Flowers and Hali were gone before hand so no change in the gameplan. Also they were under the tutelage of Haley instead of Crennel. Crennel is the one who lead them to beat GB in that same stadium last year. The defense isn't any slouch. I would agree it's not a litmus test but let's not act like this team sucks.

They were one win away from the playoffs last year. This is an average team and we blew them out. Isn't this what we always asked for? Blow out the teams you are supposed to beat and hang with the elite ones. We did that today, enjoy it folks.

Taking away that garbage time TD where they called timeout with 9 seconds left and the score is 40 - 17. Understand the Saints averaged 30+ pts per game as well. Let's not undervalue putting up 40 points.

I understand where you guys are coming from. A lot of people want to temper the positive responses, but fuck that we blew an average team out.

Last year the Chiefs lost by 41 to the Bills, 45 to the Lions, 28 to the Dolphins, 31 to the Patriots, and 27 to the Jets. And they were the second lowest scoring team in the entire NFL.

Even the Jacksonville Jaguars scored more points than the KC Chiefs last year.

Yeah, they were one win from the playoffs, but that is because that division sucked it so hard.

I am going to just count it as a W. That's all it was.
