In fact it's time to find that thread I posted over on AFMB and bump it. I took a lot of heat for sticking up for Koetter. It was one game. I'd wait for consistency first.

I expect the offense to continue to operate like this until more tape is out there and teams can gameplan for it. I wasn't at all impressed with the minimal rushing, but the defense really turned it on in the second half. Those turnovers allowed us to really run up the score quickly. |

The one thing we proved today is that we are no longer a running team.

The offense looked great on the field. Specifically Matt Ryan (obviously), but man, we need to solidify our defense, big time.

The only concern I had today with the offense was the complete giving up on the running game but when you consider our defense in the first half was as bad as anything I've seen in years you can see why the coaches gave up on the run. I'm sure with the defense playing hopefully more like it did in the second half going forward that we'll get more balance.

I am excited about the win, but not making my Super Bowl reservations yet. You guys act like the Falcons never torched a banged up defense before. The Falcons took 40-0 or bigger leads by the the 3rd quarter in 2 of the last 3 regular season games last year. We didn't see something historic out there.
That being said, I thought the bubble screens were tight, even if the Falcons got away with offensive PI on them. |

I am kind of disturbed that the Falcons can't run the ball at all against anyone anymore. I don't think the Falcons are going to be able to do what they did today effectively against a good defense without running the ball a little better. So I hope we see that improve.
