Smitty named COTY

Quote:As Mike Smith continued to rack up wins with the Atlanta Falcons, he joined select company. Coming off the team's second 13-3 season in three years, Smith was voted Sporting News NFL Coach of the Year for 2012. He also won the award in 2008 and 2010. Smitty named COTY
Since the start of the Falcons franchise back in the 60s the team has had double digit wins in the regular season 8 times. 4 of those are under Mike Smith. He is the Falcons all time win leader in only 5 seasons. He has won coach of the year 3 times already. The team prior to Smith never had back to back winning seasons; he has 5 straight. While not yet having played in the Super Bowl, all 4 teams he has lost to in the playoffs made the Super Bowl. His team has set record for fewest penalties in a season and leads the league in his tenure, which you could argue is one of the top signs of a well coached, disciplined football team.
And some fans want him fired? |

RE: Smitty named COTY
Some fans are miserable in their personal lives, and that misery carries over to their fandom, making them incapable of enjoying anything, and always only finding flaw.
Each passing generation is becoming more and more isolated within technology (connected to the world, but alone on their smartphone) so that misery and cynicism seem the default setting for most youth today. Formerly SBC Falcon
