I looked him up. I do like his style as a back. I think a zone blOclong compatible back is what we need but he finds the the whole at pace and accelerates through it.
A mate of mine spent a year on the Chargers practice squad. It was the year before San Diego played New Orleans here in London. And he said LT was at significant speed by the time he took the hand off and the moment he hit the hole the jets were on. Turner takes to long get going we need a back is smart and patient enough to feel the hole and athletically gifted enough to make the play. If Mike hit the hole with more conviction he would get his 4 yards off of momentum and falling forwards. He goes down incredibly easy at times. And it seems to me that a lower speeds his balance is poor. As he gets going on a run I've seen him recover and adjust far better than he does when in traffic. I want a 225 to 230lb back with a blend of speed power agility reaction and quickness |
