The only play I saw the play action be the difference between a completion and incompletion was the touchdown pass to Gonzalez down at the goaline.

Ryan's YPA on the season is 7.73. Both numbers are higher than his career average of 7.06 YPA.

Well, when you watch the game tape and clearly see the defense keying on the run, multiple times per game, but still say play action only helped us once....

That's because against the Chiefs he posted a 9.6 which is elite status. Against the Broncos it was 6.1. Averages out to 7.7 which is pretty good.

I'm just saying using when the defense is keying on the run it opens up the deep pass or at least the intermediate stuff. We saw none of that last night. Never every completion by Ryan was 10 yards or less.

So I can't say that running the ball had that much effect on the Broncos defense.

What some people fail to realise regarding the screen game is that Denver were ready for it. Just like Atlanta was ready for their screen game. You do damage the way we did last week the next team is going to come ready to stop it. What would have allowed us run the screens more effectively is 2 fold.

1 Completing deeper passes, forcing the Denver DB's off the LOS and making them respect both our receivers on the outside and at least one inside receiver. Far easier said than done when they played a lot of man coverage. Zone on the other hand would have been more susceptible to the screens. If you can back those guys up you get a little more operating room.

2 Run Game. This is for play action screens and to keep the LB's honest to their primary assignment. consistent runs of 4 yards would loosen up the Defense because they have to remain honest Making that defense hesitate just a bit can be very valuable.

I wouldn't be too concerned though we beat and handled a very very good defense, we didn't let them rattle our QB we scored points on them and converted crucial downs. all against a very good D!! Next Sunday against San Diego expect an Offense closer to what came out in Kansas hopefully with better run production. But expect it to be a more aggressive offensive showing.

I think the game plan was right this week, execution at times but mainly field position put that in a hole. We're lucky Matt is as immovable as he has ever been here because another QB might have flapped on that pass he made from the endzone. His pocket presence is pretty sharp. The sack was more on him than the line I think though

exactly true. that first TD pass that went to Gonzo was set up entirely by the previous few plays that were runs with Turner. Those runs weren't successful as runs, BUT they sure pulled the D up to the line and left Gonzo wide open in the end zone

They watched film they were ready for all we threw at KC last week. Doesn't mean we shouldn't have tried a few deep shots but Julio played like crap out there last night. The offense will find its sync next week.

Is it wrong for me to hope Turner is suspended for the next game due to his DUI just so we can see if anyone else is willing to hit the hole with a sense of urgency?
