Coleman was the referee presiding over the Lions/Texans game on Thanksgiving and the Tuck Rule game. Coleman was in Atlanta for the first game after the lockout when the Falcons hosted the Panthers in Week 4.

Not sure what effect, if any, this has on the game. In the end, I'd just rather have the most experienced refs calling the game. Looks like Yette is calling his first playoff game in only 3 years in the league. I guess, for the most part, no news is good news here.

On another note, it still bugs me that the occupation column reads anything other than "NFL ref".

He's not Hoculi but I can't stand Walt Coleman either. Why don't the Falcons ever get the good refs? Jerome Boger (Packers/49ers), Mike Caray, Scott Green. I think those are the 3 best refs in the business and they hardly ever do a Falcons game.

not fully comfortable with Coleman, he's definitely had a history with the Seahawks from that article, so what if this year he decides he wants to make up for past errors for them?

You may not know him by name but I do and the guy is absolutely terrible. Him, Hochuli and Triplette are by far the 3 worst umpires in the NFL and we get them a lot.

But we never get the 3 best which are Jerome Boger, Mike Caray and Scott Green. Oh and Alberto Riveron is pretty good too.
